I price shop a lot; Amazon not necessarily has the lowest price. Plus we already have Amazon gift card balance as a bribe from our previous Zillow lender buying 5 star review.

+1 I bought a few items on walmart.com that were about 10%+ cheaper than amazon and got the items in 1-2 days. The California Court Company said:I price shop a lot; Amazon not necessarily has the lowest price. You have to swipe the Amex card to activate the $30 credit statement, unless you're planning to use a target gift card (purchased with AMEX) and combo swipe with the red card? But I believe the 5% discount only applies to the amount charged to the red card, subtracting out the gift card amount.aquabliss said:If you have a red card, you can use the target deal to save an extra $5 per $100 by purchasing online and effectively making your net cost $65 per $100.
Online if you pay any % of your purchase with the red card, it reduces the entire purchase amount by 5%.
I'm going to do this with purchase of Disney GC's at target.com (effectively getting $100 worth for $65) since we go quite a bit with the kids.

I don't think that is the case anymore. The California Court Company said:one positive about Amazon is you could avoid the 8% sales tax.

Some amazon products are not subject to CA sales tax before you are buying from the vendor directly and that vendor may not have presence in CA. Those items are not eligible for Amazon Prime anyhow.irvinehomeowner said:I don't think that is the case anymore. The California Court Company said:one positive about Amazon is you could avoid the 8% sales tax.
They traded a Cali presence+sales tax for faster delivery times (same day!).

GH is right.
So, you have to:
1) Use AMEX in-store to buy the target GC for $100 (Swipe the AMEX at B&M)
2) Go online, buy the $100 GC and use your Target Red Card for .05 worth of the purchase
3) If you do this online, it will take 5% off your entire purchase making the cost of the GC $95 total
