[quote author="PANDA" date=1212743880]IPOP,
Growing up in the south is the only fact that was not true about myself. All other statements I've made, is the "REAL" me. I knew that couple of my socal friends and brother-in-law reads this forum so mentioning that i was from the south would hide Panda's identity. I actually grew up in the northwest suburbs of Chicago called Barrington. My high school was literally 99% white. Even among the 1% of the asians in my high school, the kids drove around ford mustangs and only dated white girls, therefore acting like they are white.
Right after college I worked for one of the big four consulting companies in SF and LA. That is when i discovered Irvine and immediately fell in love with the area. I was 22 back then.
As I mentioned to you before, back in 2003 when I had cold feet about purchasing the A2 plan of Casalon in QH and missed that opportunity, I saw that the prices for Irvine homes were just sky rocketing to the roof. Sadly, I had to face the fact that I was priced out and that I would have to give up my dreams of moving to Irvine. Shortly after that incident, I invested in a nice 3800 sq/ft SFR in Duluth, GA to move there and start a family with my wife. Obviously Duluth was second place to me compared to Irvine, but there are so many similarities between the two places. The house i invested there is in the Northview High School district, and the demographics (asians/white) and ranking is so close to that of Uni High and Northwood High. So Duluth, Georgia would of been my second choice to live had I been priced out of Irvine. I was seriously ready to pack and move to Duluth, GA in 2006 and suddenly I noticed that the prices in Irvine finally peaked and started to head south. That is when i found hope that the dream i once gave up on can eventually come true for me. I know it is sad, but for almost 10 years my dream has been to start a family and own my own business in Irvine. Even if I ever become a billionaire, I will not move to Newport Coast. I will remain in Irvine.
One of things that my father told me when i was little is that "success is when an opportunity presents itself and you are ready to take advantage of that opportunity." This time around, I am so ready.</blockquote>
Dude, Duluth is like 12-15% asian and Northview High School itself is 60+% white. For GA, that is probably asian-central, but probably more like AV in terms of racial demographics. Nice suburban area though...
