i really don't understand the hatred toward apartment residents sometimes..

I hope I didn't sound like I hated apartment dwellers... I was one for the last five years by choice too.. But the fact is I've lived in a Torrance apt, Newport beach (those girls were the biggest partiers) and at the village in irvine... And the walls were thin and the people nearest to me were loud.  Not to mention the little boy next door to me in the Aliso townhouse that cried all the time... Maybe it's just my luck.

Some are, but in these days that isn't the majourity.  My dislike for apartment communities is based simply on noise which in general will be more as you have more people packed into the area.  There is the possibly you buy a home and the neighbors party until 2am every night I guess.

White people are a lot noisier than yellow people.  Choose your neighbors carefully.

So true.  My old neighbors were Asian college students (and I suspect even a couple of high school students) renters.  Even though their lights were on until all hours of the night I never heard a peep from them.  Unfortunately the house was sold to noisy white people who seem to spend twenty-four hours a day in their yard.  Houses are close enough together that it sounds like they're right in my room.  Thankfully, I don't mind their choice of music but I wish the wife had something more interesting to talk about during her three hour phone calls.

not all Asians are quiet... The last few months before we left our apt in aliso a group of young Asian kids moved in... They sang keroke almost every night... It wasn't loud but it was right next door... And they were not very good at all... Lol.  At the stonegate welcome BBQ I had to tell the table next to me with all Asians to "be quiet" cause I couldn't here the presenter talking... Luckily he doesn't live in San Mateo older dude with a bigger family probably one of the larger homes.
