Straw Poll regarding gas milage. and possible Oil consumption Ideas

NEW -> Contingent Buyer Assistance Program
It depends... I know g35driver.com set up a few, I think. I think the best thing to do is contact the tracks. I know from my riding days, you can visit www.trackdaze.com. I'm not sure if that's the site but I'm sure you'll find something via google.

What car are you tracking?

If I go the speed limit on the freeway, with no traffic, I can get 35-38 mpg. At about 80 mph cruise, I can get 33 mpg. It's really not bad for such a big car, though it's not too heavy for its size - about 3300 lbs. It also is reasonably quick (about 7 seconds to 60).</blockquote>

is that your mini cooper then on the Avitar?? strom</blockquote>

Was until earlier this year. Now I've got a longer commute (new job), a 9-month-old (car seat included), and no time to go to the track.</blockquote>

I have a 2004 Mini cooper s . MC40 no track time for me yet. but a really enjoyable ride and economical too.

I pulled 30 mpg out of the last tank. how? 65 mph baby on the 5. slow but cheap.

[quote author="effenheimer" date=1225426946]Are they put on by clubs, or by the tracks themselves?</blockquote>

NASA

BMWCCA

SCCA

Speed Ventures

Many more, but those are the best (I think).

They put on events at California Speedway, Buttonwillow, Willow Springs, etc. if you want local tracks. They also do them at Sears Point, Laguna Seca, Thunderhill, PIR, and others if you're willing to drive greater distances. The picture in my Avatar is at PIR.

They are very fun and pretty economical cars. Mine was set up mostly for track use as my daily commute was 4 miles. Now that I'm driving 100 or so miles a day on the 405 (temporarily - for the next year), it wouldn't be so comfortable.
