Cal State Long Beach retires Prospector Pete mascot amid cries of racism and genocide during California gold rush

Cal State Long Beach is sending Prospector Pete packing.

The towering bronze statue that sits in the plaza outside the liberal arts building soon will be relocated to a less prominent place on campus as the university officially moves to retire the mascot that some say represents the state?s history of racism and genocide against Native Americans.

What a bunch of bland, boring, non-offensive, uninspiring, banal, lame, vapid choices.  Let's not differentiate ourselves and offend anyone or group.  Thank you Snowflakes for making life less interesting...but equal.

MASCOT OPTIONS
These sample artwork submissions represent concepts that the committee is forwarding to be considered by the student body. Though elements from these concepts may be used for inspiration, the final mascot design will come from a professional firm.

Giraffes
Kraken
Pelicans
Stingrays
Sharks

Sharks may be considered derogatory to those who lend money with a high interest rate.

Kraken could be offensive to anyone with shellfish allergies.

Heh, is this a snowflake?

Is using 'AOC' instead of Cortez' real name racist?
https://www.nbcnews.com/news/latino...asio-cortez-s-name-latest-culture-war-n985916

?Beyond this most recent incident involving Laura Ingraham, I find it very disturbing that Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez?s name is being abbreviated as AOC by the news media,? Flores said. ?We don?t call Kevin McCarthy ?KM? or Nancy Pelosi ?NP,? so we need to probe why she?s tagged AOC.?

The congresswoman does not have any issues with that, though, telling people on Twitter that she's not just Cortez; she's Ocasio-Cortez, or they can just call her AOC.

Opting for an easier name rings familiar to some Latinos, including Sarah Funes, 27, a sales associate at Apple. She didn't always go by Sarah; her birth name was Mayra (pronounced MAI'-rah). But she decided to change it when she was 16, in large part because people kept mangling the correct way to say it.

Whether the mispronunciation is intended or not, Funes says it makes people ?feel ashamed? about who they are.

?No one asks this of the Tims, Johns and Harrys of the world. No one asks this of the Megans, Kaitlins and Sallys of the world,? Funes said. To make Latinos feel like they "don't belong here, is unacceptable."

(did I do that right morekaos?)

definitely a bunch of snowflakes, but more than that it's being outraged on someone else's behalf, which is also all the rage lately.  her twitter handle is literally "@AOC", which she created.  these people need to get a life!

Snowflake melt so easily when exposed to the real world.  Where did they learn this garbage?

51% of Millennials want employers to prioritize diversity over ability

Just 15% of Generation Z and 32% of Millennials believe 'merit and competition supersede all, even if that results in a workplace that creates minimal diversity'
By comparison, 37% of Generation X and 45% of Baby Boomers say that merit is more important than diversity, according to a new Zogby poll of 2,002 people
A majority of Generation Z (55%) believe 'major business decisions must first and foremost take into account their impact on the environment.'

I 100% support the people who would personally benefit from quotas and handouts to advocate for things like diversity, reparations, etc. because trying to get ahead is nothing to be ashamed of. However, I have nothing but contempt for liberals who pretend to care about other people and fight for quotas and handouts on behalf of other people because we all know that all this purported liberal altruism is nothing but disguised self aggrandizement and condescension.

I guess having a wide range of opinions, experience, backgrounds, and though process would not be reasons to push diversity.  I mean what does McKinsey know.

Instagram 'influencer' cries at prospect of '9-5 job' after account shut down

"I'm nothing without my following, I am nothing without my following,? she says between sobs.

"And when people try to hate on me or report me [...] think twice because you're ruining my life, because I make all of my money online, all of it and I don't want to lose that.

"I know people like to see me be down and be like them and the ninety per cent-ers ? the people who work 9-5 ? that is not me, I am in LA to not be like that.?

She then goes on to say that she could never ?work a normal job? and that she doesn?t want to return to her previous life as a sex-worker.

"What some of you guys have to realise is I have no skills, I'm twenty-f****** -thousand dollars in debt from college so I can't even go to college if I wanted to.

"I used to work at f****** McDonald's before I did YouTube, Instagram, before I had 100,000 followers, before I had everything in my life I was a f****** loser.?

The video, which Ms Taylor captioned ?STOP REPORTING MY INSTAGRAM ACCOUNT? ? has been viewed by more than 188,000 people since it was posted on April 4.

Yankees ban Kate Smith's 'God Bless America' over 'history of potential racism

The New York Yankees? anti-racism efforts have extended to pulling from their seventh-inning stretch a famous recording of the legendary Kate Smith singing ?God Bless America.?

Not because anyone has complained that the song is racist, but because Smith recorded other racially-insensitive standards from and during the Jim Crow era.

The Yankees pulled Smith?s ?God Bless America? from the rotation at the start of the season, but the New York Daily News reported the reason Thursday ? ?the Yankees were made aware of Smith?s history of potential racism.?

Snow flakes are quite literally melting from climate change, they even gave it a fancy name....

Young Minnesotans with 'climate grief' are feeling anxiety

"My whole generation wonders if we're getting cheated out of a full future, and we can't put it out of our minds," she said. "It's an anxiety-inducing situation."

That anxiety has a name: climate grief.

Knew this was coming but didn't think it would happen this fast.  Triggered by our racist founders of an evil nation...of course.

Founding Fathers under attack: Students demand Thomas Jefferson statue removal

tudents at Hofstra University protested a statue of Thomas Jefferson on Friday at the second annual event, titled ?Jefferson Has Gotta Go!?

The protest came just hours after George Washington University students voted to ditch the school's mascot, "George the Colonial," named after another Founding Father, George Washington.

High school may erase mural of George Washington: ?traumatizes students?

?Glorifies slavery, genocide, colonization, manifest destiny?

A Northern California public school district may remove a mural of George Washington from the halls of George Washington High School due to concerns that it?s offensive and demeaning to Native Americans and African-Americans.

Endlessly entertaining...Snowflakes are snowflakes about being snowflakes.

Millennials and Gen Z really ARE snowflakes: Scientists find people aged 18 to 25 are the most upset when they're labelled narcissistic, entitled and oversensitive

Researchers questioned more than 1,000 student and 724 of other age groups
All age groups said they believe that they are the most narcissistic and entitled
But millennials and Generation Z dislike the 'snowflake' characterisation
These groups also tend to believe it less than older generations do, study notes

awhhhh...that's so cute...

Young people blame climate change for their small 401(k) balances

Many young people today think civilization may not exist when they?re of retirement age. Here are ways to get them to invest for the future.

Lori Rodriguez, a 27-year-old communications professional in New York City, is not saving for retirement, and it isn?t necessarily because she can?t afford to ? it?s because she doesn?t expect it to matter.

Like many people her age, Rodriguez believes climate change will have catastrophic effects on our planet. Some 88% of millennials ? a higher percentage than any other age group ? accept that climate change is happening, and 69% say it will impact them in their lifetimes. Engulfed in a constant barrage of depressing news stories, many young people are skeptical about saving for an uncertain future.

?I want to hope for the best and plan for a future that is stable and secure, but, when I look at current events and at the world we are predicting, I do not see how things could not be chaotic in 50 years,? Rodriguez says. ?The weather systems are already off, and I don?t think it?s hyperbolic to be a little apocalyptic.?

I think fortune11 made this observation in another thread but I tend to agree... isn't the POTUS one of the biggest snowflakes ever?

No, he's a counter puncher. He reacts when attacked.  Snowflakes feel they are attacked by everything.  They don't counter punch. Look at this trip...the Brits treat him with respect, he returns the favor.
Attack him in an op ed? You're gonna get it right back.
