Snowflakes

NEW -> Contingent Buyer Assistance Program
But let's get back to the topic.

So the term "snowflake" as defined by Urban Dictionary:

Began being used extensively as a putdown for someone, usually on the political left, who is easily offended or felt they needed a "safe space" away from the harsh realities of the world, but now has morphed into a general putdown for anyone that complains about any subject.

So really, aren't there snowflakes on both sides of the aisle?

Your quotes are there for everyone to see. Why would you say that saying "blackface" would be offensive to them if you were not implying "brother=black"? You even said it multiple times before I called you out on it and then you went to the whole "brother=something else" excuse.

Again, you seem to be the only one who is claiming morekaos is racist, the fact that no other members are backing you up on this one should indicate something.

Your not calling out nothing. I can tell you this what the other member said about you. That you try to be the big guy on Talk Irvine and bully people. Also, I can tell you what Tyler said about you.  ;)

Are you sure you want to engage in a conversation with me?

All I got to say is. All talk no action.

Everyone has a right to their opinion.

It's so ironic, you keep bringing up what other members think about me, but you fail to realize how your actions against morekaos and SGIP look.

Do you have PMs where other members think morekaos is racist... or question SGIP's business practices? You seem to be the only one who thinks that.

I said Trojan Realtor does a great not getting involved in questionable subjects on TI since he does Business on TI. There?s nothing wrong with that. It just makes business sense. You don?t need an MBa or PHD to figure that out.

Also, I honestly don?t care if other members think his posts are racist or offensive. People don?t want to waste their time.

The way I see it. If you continuously make posts that are offensive to a certain race. Then there?s a problem and I will not put up with that crap.

Why not talk about you iHo?  That member punked you in that one post and you did nothing about it. You only brought up the definition from urban dictionary. Lol
Also, I think you even raised the white flag in that post. I thought you were going to avoid me and not talk to me. (I knew that was a lie. That did not last long. ) Ha

I?m trying to understand this. Maybe you don?t think it?s offensive for a person to make offensive posts around 10 plus times about a certain group. Because you made offensive posts yourself, bullied, and trolled other TI members until they left TI. Which you got called out by multiple members. I?ll be on a lookout for you creating another page to attack.  ;) (Like you have done before - the chicken thread)

And again back to the topic of this thread...

Since I don't lean left or right too much, I feel that both Reps and Dems can be called guilty of snowflaking.

It's actually human nature... as exampled by many of the conversations in this very forum.

University campus suspends all fraternity, sorority social activities

The University of Texas at Arlington has suspended all social activities of Greek organizations due to "concerns regarding the culture of the fraternal community," the school said Wednesday.

The university, which has about 28,000 undergraduates among its more than 40,000 students, began the suspension of social activities of fraternities and sororities Monday so that it can study their communities' culture, the university's chief spokesperson said in a statement.

?During this pause, the University will assemble a campus Fraternity and Sorority Life Task Force to review the state of affairs within the fraternity and sorority community and to recommend steps to effect a positive shift in the community culture," the statement said.

SA senator reignites effort to change Colonials nickname

Students launched a petition last spring calling on the University to switch the Colonials nickname to something less offensive, like GW?s unofficial mascot, the hippo.

Dane Kennedy, a history and international affairs professor who will sit on the panel, said he wants to inform students about the racial connotations of colonialism, given that the word often refers to a group of white people oppressing minority groups, like Native or African Americans.

You keep editing your posts so I'm never sure what you are actually saying.

I'll avoid you as long as you stop accusing members of being racist or attacking their personal/business lives.

I'll avoid you as long as you stop accusing me of things you don't have proof of.

I'm not sure what you are referring to about me getting punked or raising the white flag, and if that happened... who cares?

Again, false accusations.

You still have not provided enough proof for this. When I post on TI, I don't reference personal information, quote PMs, call out inadequacies in their profession, call them the b-word, try to get other members to find dirt on me, or challenge them to an in-person fist fight, I discuss the topics and their posts... which is what we all should do.

And you don't see the irony... all these things you accuse me of, you are actually doing to morekaos and SGIP... behind the guise of "I'm offended"... which by the way, is the topic of this thread.

Mollie Hemingway: Focusing on potential avocado shortage from border shutdown proves how 'unserious' media is

Mollie Hemingway, Fox News Contributor and senior editor at "The Federalist," argued media concern over a potential avocado crisis if President Trump shuts down the Mexico border shows ?how unserious? the media is about the ?very big issue.?

According to the latest data from the United States Department of Agriculture, about half of all imported U.S. vegetables and 40 percent of imported fruit are grown in Mexico. Americans would run out of avocados in three weeks if imports from Mexico were stopped.

?Some people when they look at our border crisis they?re worried about rule of law, they?re worried about national sovereignty, they?re worried about a humanitarian crisis or the drugs that are flowing over the border and those are very serious concerns,? Hemingway said on Fox & Friends Wednesday.

?Also, the economic impact from a possible shutdown is serious, but when the media focuses on whether they are going to get their breakfast with avocado toast instead of these bigger pressing issues, it just shows how unserious they are of this very big issue.?

Is this a threat?

You should be careful here, especially when it comes to Tyler. That member has threatened violence on a member here even though he thought that member was a female and my wife. Tyler has also gone so far as to ask other members who know me personally about my personal information and actually tried to expose that here. When he left he asked the admin to delete all his posts (which included his threats of violence) but then he came back to bad mouth TI, attack other members, re-up his threats with me and tried to post personal details about me.

Just the fact that you are conversing with Tyler makes me wonder if you are digging for details on me or any other members, and if so, this is where you are crossing the line.

No one is crossing the line and digging. Actually I never knew that and that?s your side of the story. We do not know Tyler?s side. It shows through your own admission that another member quit TI because of you.

Again I thought you are going to stop talking to me. Lol

This is not my side of the story, this is what happened. Luckily, test quoted Tyler's post so even though he had the admin delete them (which is the only member that I know of who actually had the admin do this for them), it's still on TI.

I bolded the part where he threatened test:

You are the biggest source of misinformation on here, since you have no work experience in any of the topics - yet you insist on arguing with people who do have experience.

What is the biggest construction project your company worked on - a lego playset?  How much experience do you have with public policy - you watched CSPAN?  How many mortgages loans have you made - houses on Baltic Avenue and hotels on Park Place?  How many businesses have you run - lemonade stands? How many square feet of interior space have you designed - a doll house for the kids?

Ohhhh, I'm keeping a screenshot of this one.

You were even posting in that thread but I guess you forgot.

There was another post where he challenged another member (or maybe test again) to a parking lot (garage?) fight but I guess nobody quoted it.

And I don't think he quit because of just me, he got into it with a few members here (you can search for that yourself) where he insulted their jobs/lives/etc. I actually liked Tyler because he had knowledge of almost everything... but he would deride other members. I even posted a thread about how smart he is. And from what I hear, in real life he's actually an okay guy... it's just the Internet (esp discussion forums) can bring out the bad side in people.

2. Here?s the thing. We don?t know the whole picture. What did test say to Tyler?
3. I?m guessing you were part of the reason why Tyler left. (I don?t know the percentage.) It?s hard to believe that you said nothing to him.

Man accused of abandoning pet fish faces animal cruelty charges

NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WECT) - A New Hanover County man was arrested on animal cruelty charges after he allegedly failed to provide fresh water and food to his pet fish and abandoned it after he was evicted from his home last month.

The fish will continue to recover at The Fish Room in Wilmington, and then will be up for adoption at Animal Services

this week in: "triggered by a red hat"

Man wearing ?MAGA? hat says woman berated him at California Starbucks for supporting Trump

A 74-year-old man said a woman berated and called him a racist at a California Starbucks on Monday after she spotted him wearing a ?Make American Great Again? hat in support of President Trump.

The man, who was identified as Victor, told KTVU he was wearing the iconic red hat when the woman began yelling at him outside the coffee shop in Palo Alto.

?This woman came over and not only started screaming at me, she turned to the Starbucks audience and said, ?Hey, everybody come here! This guy's a racist! This guy hates brown people!?? Victor told the news station.

Victor, who is Jewish, also told other news outlets that the woman called him a Nazi.

The woman, who later identified herself as Rebecca Mankey, admitted in a lengthy Facebook post that she yelled at Victor and called for anyone who spotted the 74-year-old wearing the ?MAGA? hat to ?please confront him.?

?I yelled at him. Called the entire Starbucks to order and yelled at him more about how it?s not okay to hate brown people?I called him more names and told him to call the police? He wouldn?t call the police so I called him a wimp, He got his stuff together to leave. I followed him to the register while he complained about me,? read the post on Mankey?s page, which has since been deactivated. ?Then chased him out of Starbucks yelling at him to get the f--- out of my town.?

She later wrote in a comment that she was ?going to publicly shame him in town and try to get him fired and kicked out of every club he is in.?

Palo Alto police said both parties did not file a report on the incident. Mankey, however, was fired from her job at Gryphon Strings, a guitar sales and repair shop, after the store owner was made aware of the altercation.

Victor said those berating people for wearing the red hat have ?Trump derangement syndrome.?

?It?s called Trump derangement syndrome: people acting crazy. If you can?t tell the difference between a hat that says ?Make America Great Again? and a Nazi helmet or a Ku Klux Klan hat, I?d say you?re deranged,? Victor said.

Oh nooooo...streaming music is killing the planet!!! That just can't be...it looked so sustainable....bahahahahahah!

Streaming music is driving up harmful emissions, according to study

Streaming music has unintended environmental consequences, a new study says.

Although the shift from physical media to streaming has reduced cost and plastic pollution, using services like Spotify and Apple Music is driving up carbon emissions and contributing to climate change, a recent study says.

The Cost of Music is a joint venture between the University of Glasgow and the University of Oslo, and warns that the energy used to store and stream digital media is just as harmful for the environment as plastic waste.

The study looked at the costs of physical media over the past century, adjusted for inflation, and set that against changing average salaries and the average amount of a person?s weekly salary that would go towards paying for music across that period.

The study found that while music has never been cheaper to own ? a vinyl record in 1977 cost an average of $28.55 in today?s money while a digital download in 2013 cost $11.11 ? the amount people were willing to spend on music in those years dropped from 4.83% of their salary a week to 1.22%.

While this has reduced the amount of plastic wasted from CD cases, vinyl and other physical media, the amount being paid to musicians has dropped, and emissions related to the recorded music industry is believed to have increased.

Although the amount of plastics consumed by the industry dropped to 8 million kilograms in 2016 from a high of 61 million kilograms at the CD?s peak in 2000, when the study translated the production of plastics and the generation of electricity into greenhouse gas equivalents (GHGs), streaming generates far more. While GHGs peaked at 157 million in 2000 under the physical era, the generation of GHGs by storing and streaming digital files is estimated to be between 200 million kilograms and over 350 million kilograms in the USA alone.
