Man Arrested For JCC Bomb Threats Was Liberal Journalist Fired For Fabrication

Juan Thompson, the St. Louis native arrested for making bomb threats against Jewish centers, used to write at left-wing website The Intercept before being fired for fabrication.

A man allegedly waging an intense campaign of harassment against a former lover was responsible for bomb threats against the Anti-Defamation League and some Jewish centers around the country, authorities said Friday.
Law enforcement sources told NBC 4 New York the 31-year-old suspect, Juan Thompson, was arrested in St. Louis in connection with multiple threats against Jewish centers, including some in the New York tri-state area.

JCC bomb threats: Teen suspect arrested in Israel

Jerusalem (CNN)A Jewish teenager was arrested Thursday in connection with a series of bomb threats that have rattled Jewish institutions and community centers across the US and other countries, Israeli police said.

A months-long international investigation led to the 19-year-old suspect, who used "advanced camouflage technologies" to cover his tracks, police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld said.

Well that massive surge in Trump antisemitism is now accounted for with two people...who don't even support Trump.  Wow!! Nice fake news that pushed another false narrative!

Whom are you addressing? You're fighting a strawman argument here. The point made repeatedly here, is that Trump's words and actions foster an environment that empowers this type of hate, whether or not that's the case in this specific instance.

OK...here's one...

US new home sales surge to seven-month high in February

New U.S. single-family home sales jumped to a seven-month high in February, suggesting the housing market recovery continued to gain momentum despite the challenges of high prices and tight inventories.

The Commerce Department said on Thursday new home sales increased 6.1 percent to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 592,000 units last month, the highest level since July 2016.

January's sales pace was revised up to 558,000 units from the previously reported 555,000 units. New home sales have now recouped a sharp drop suffered in December.

http://www.cnbc.com/2017/03/23/us-new-home-sales-hit-592000-units-in-february-vs-estimate-of-565000.html

I'm so grateful Trump has turned-around the housing industry! It's been in the dump for eight long years.

I think the Senate Democrats should support the well qualified Gorsuch, and vote for him, reminding everyone how despicable the Republicans' behavior was last year failing to give Garland a hearing, much less a vote. The Democrats can prove they're the adults in the room. We'll see if they can muster the courage to rise above juvenile behavior. Having said that, they should question Gorsuch heavily about his originalist views which fail under simple questioning.

What Does Originalism Mean to Judge Gorsuch?https://www.bloomberg.com/view/articles/2017-03-20/what-does-originalism-mean-to-judge-gorsuch

From everything I've read Gorsuch is not an originalist, but rather a textualist, meaning the words on the paper are what matter, not trying to guess at the "intentions" of those that wrote the words.  I think the confusion arises from the constant comparison to Scalia, who was much more of an originalist than Gorsuch appears to be.

Here was Gorsuch's explanation to Dianne Feinstein about the difference:

It would be a mistake to suggest that originalism turns on the secret intentions of the drafters of the language of the law. The point of originalism, textualism, whatever label you want to put on it ? what a good judge always strives to do, and I think we all do ? is strive to understand what the words on the page mean. Not import words that come from us, but apply what you, the people?s representative, the lawmakers, have done. And so when it comes to equal protection of the law, for example, it matters not a whit that some of the drafters of the 14th Amendment were racists, because they were, or sexists, because they were. The law they drafted promises equal protection of the laws to all persons. That?s what they wrote. And the original meaning of those words John Marshall Harlan captured in his dissent in Plessy. An equal protection of the laws doesn?t mean separate in advancing one particular race or gender ? it means ?equal.? And as I said yesterday I think that guarantee ? equal protection of the law?s guarantee in the 14th Amendment, that it took a civil war for this country to win ? is maybe the most radical guarantee in all of the constitution, and maybe in all of human history. It?s a fantastic thing, and that?s why it is chiseled in Vermont marble above the entrance to the Supreme Court of the United States.

I support the well qualified Gorsuch's nomination, and haven't read anything about his rulings being near Scalia's extreme originalist views.

Ballonnyyy..these bomb threats were specifically cited over and over by the press as indicative of the sudden upsurge in antisemitism in this country..don't you see the overwhelming irony that the perpetrators of all this made up angst were liberal and jewish?  I couldn't write more irony and cynicism into this story.

Trump's silence on a documented rise in episodes of anti-Semitism is 'mind-boggling,' group says

The Anti-Defamation League has monitored a surge in racist and anti-Semitic graffiti and vandalism since Trump's election, including the use of Nazi imagery. Forty-eight Jewish Community Centers reported bomb threats in January, according to CNN .

"It is mind-boggling why President Trump prefers to shout down a reporter or brush this off as a political distraction," ADL National Chairman Marvin Nathan and CEO Jonathan Greenblatt said in a statement. "This is not a partisan issue. It?s a potentially lethal problem ? and it?s growing."

Just asked for clarification because it sounded like you were addressing someone here on TI. Just from that excerpt, the Evil Media seems to be quoting concerned folks. Trump himself has said, that he should be able to report false statements without retribution when they're proved wrong because he's just repeating something he heard from someone else. This should equally annoy you, no?

FBI has info suggesting coordination between Trump aides, Russia: reporthttp://www.msn.com/en-us/news/polit...ump-aides-russia-report/ar-BByBR4C?li=BBnb7Kz

What's the probability Trump aids were complicit in this Russian effort? What's the probability Trump was too?

Turnabouts fair play...looks like Hillary's peeps were deep into the Russians too...surprise!!

Podesta Was Board Member Of Firms Linked To Russian Investors

Podesta ? Hillary Clinton?s 2016 presidential campaign chairman and former President Bill Clinton?s White House chief of staff ? first made contact with the Russian firm in 2011, when he joined the boards and executive committees of three related entities: Boston-based Joule Unlimited; Rotterdam-based Joule Global Holdings; Joule Global Stichting, the company?s controlling interest. All are high-tech renewable energy enterprises.

Three months after Podesta?s arrival, Joule Unlimited accepted a 1 billion ruble investment from Rusnano, amounting to $35 million in U.S. currency. The firm also awarded a Joule board seat in February 2012 to Anatoly Chubais, Rusnano?s CEO, who has been depicted as a corrupt figure.

One potential legal problem for him relates to the time he joined former President Barack Obama?s White House staff in 2014 as a senior counselor and failed to reveal his 2011 Joule stock vesting agreement in his government financial disclosure form.

Further, he failed to disclose 75,000 common shares of Joule stock he received, as disclosed in a WikiLeaks email.

After Podesta began working at the White House, his lawyer indicated in a Jan. 6, 2014 email that he had not yet finished the legal work on the private transfer of the stock to a family-owned entity called Leonido Holdings, LLC.

That's the point...as much as they want them to care about this stuff....nobody does.  Everyone accepts a certain level of corruption real or perceived...moving on.

I think it's awesome to see Democrats wearing tinfoil hats like this.  They are in complete meltdown mode after losing the election and haven't come to grips with the reasons for the loss.  Rather than admit their policies have failed and that they are out of touch, they continue to pursue a conspiracy theory involving Russians.  Love it!

Whom are you calling Democrats? Someone here, or generally?

You can't seriously be complaining, about meltdowns, losing elections, and subsequent conspiracy theories, can you? Trump is ALL ABOUT all of this, and he's president.

LOL. Democrats like McCain, for example?

Neither Trump, nor Trump enthusiasts and apologists, should have the audacity to complain about conspiracy theories directed at Trump. He is the King.

If CNN's New Russia Report Is True, We May Be Seeing the Beginning of the End of Donald Trump's Presidency
http://www.gq.com/story/russia-donald-trump-cnn-report/amp

Donald Trump is in the middle of a non-stop waking nightmare. Every single day finds the nation's most powerful conspiracy theorist at the center of what might be the biggest conspiracy in our nation's history. And unlike the theories Trump likes to push (Obama having Trump's "wires tapped," Obama not being born in America, etc.), more and more this one seems like the real deal.

Or he may be vindicated....

Intelligence Reports Reveal Improper Political Surveillance of Trump

Nunes said on CNN that after reading the reports he was confident the Obama White House and numerous agencies "had a pretty good idea of what President-elect Trump was up to and what his transition team was up to and who they were meeting with."

The full extent of the improper spying?including the improper unmasking of Americans whose identities were to be hidden in reports of foreign communications intercepts?is expected to be disclosed Friday, Nunes said.

The National Security Agency has agreed to provide additional reports, although Nunes said the FBI has not yet agreed to his request to turn over additional sensitive intelligence reports on the Trump transition team.ransition Team
