My wife would never be caught dead with a coach or Dooney and Burke bag. Why? Because she can afford to use high end bags on a daily basis

Damn man, c'mon IC, I know deep down you agree with me. This is just the lawyer in u being argumentative right?

Ha!  Part of me is like... do I live in a different Irvine than IC?  Everywhere I go, people are carrying $$$ bags.  Some girl almost ran me over the other day in her beat up toyota camry and $4k celine bag.  She's obviously not baby-ing it if she's letting it ride in a plain ole japanese car.

A real Celine?  I doubt it.

That's the thing...most of what you see are fakes.

Well then, qwerty...you make a lot more money than I do.

Remember, we call u guys for the paperwork  :-)

That just seemed like the perfect time to use the line from suits.

Ok so every $$$ bag I see is fake.  Prob even qwerty's wife's bags.  When's the last time you shopped for an expensive bag?  Do you follow handbag trends?  Have you walked into SCP and tried to buy a celine bag?  I just want to know where you get your facts from.

I didn't say every bag you see is a fake, I am saying the the majority of the one you see are probably fakes.  I have been to plenty of expensive bags between getting them for my wife and accompanying relatives to SCP.

Celine, Bottega, Gucci, Prada, LV...Hermes is probably the one place that I haven't bought anything from.

Only IC sees real bags. Everyone else sees fake bags.

I don't care enough to check...but counterfeit bags are an incredibly big business in Asia.  It's not cheap knockoffs from Chinatown level.

High level knockoffs are super popular in Asia and can be several hundred dollars.  They use the same material and hire people who work at the factories to make them.  The only thing that is tricky is the logo.

where at scp did you shop for a celine bag?

Celine used to have a store in SCP but not anymore.  Some Nordstroms carry them.

ohhhhh ok.  so you have old school celine (before phoebe philo took over) b/c the celine store at SCP closed down in 2009.  To my knowledge, nobody at SCP carries celine but I haven't checked in a bit so I could be wrong.

Again..I don't go purse shopping on a regular occasion, it's not really my thing.    Nordstrom even used to carry them online, which you can get shipped.  I haven't really checked recently.  There is a Celine store in BH.

Also...people's tastes change.  LV is always popular with Asians but more people going with other designers now.

What the heck happened to my thread?

This has turned into fashion bag week on TI  8)

Anyone ordering the 5C @ midnight tonight?

Either Apple app store or Apple's website.

When I ordered the 4 and 5, I was even able to get on chat to help resolve the shipping address issue.

The thing about not having pre-orders is if you don't get in at midnight (which becomes a bear sometimes because of all the traffic), you shipping time gets delayed.

I think I'm only getting one, the wife wants a bigger screen and memory she can expand without having to spend $100 per step.

I'll pass on the 5c as well. If I get a 5s it will be an online order. I'd like to avoid the long lines if possible.

And what is the median household income in Irvine ($72,057) vs. the median household income in the rest of the US ($44,512)?  Do you think maybe that has something to do with your spotting of high end goods everywhere you go around the area?  Do you think that you would see a different percentage of that particular brand (compared to all other brands) in Bakersfield, Fresno or Stockton?

The wealth effect indicates that folks with higher incomes will buy higher end goods.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wealth_effect

Similiarly, their marginal propensity to buy imported goods rises as well.

Just because one high end product is ubiquitous in sample taken from a high income zip code does not mean that it holds true across the rest of the population.

According to 2007 Census Bureau estimates, the median income for a household in the city is $98,923, and the median income for a family is $111,455; these numbers make Irvine the seventh richest city in the USA, among cities with population 65,000 or higher.[12]

This is going to be interesting then...

Don't be in a hurry to upgrade to the new iPhone software, iOS 7, when it's released to the public on Wednesday unless you like buggy apps that crash all the time, an app testing company is warning.

An enormous number of iPhone app makers are behind the eight ball in getting their apps to work properly with iOS 7, says Matt Johnston, chief marketing officer of uTest, a Massachusetts-based startup that does crowdsourced testing of mobile apps for companies like Google, Amazon, HBO, USA Today.

Among uTest's customers, "90% of iOS apps tested for first time are having trouble," Johnston said. Apps are having performance problems in twice as many areas as they typically do and it's taking developers three or four tries to fix all the things that iOS 7 breaks.

gonna decide tonight if we're going to 5s route... besides the allure of the new 64 bit chip and what is to come... I'm actually considering jumping off the Apple bandwagon...  Samsung Galaxy S4 or even maybe the Note seems really attractive.. AT&T contract expires in October.. but scared to change carriers.. we get great reception with ATT at home.... that's the most important factor.. hate to test drive reception with Verizon or Sprint.  Right now our mobile bill comes in around $100 for wife and I.. seems the newer plans will cost us more.. we don't need much.. share 500 minutes, 500 texts, 2g data.. any recs?

decisions decisions... trading in our older iPhones will wash out the cost of the new phones.. but tacking on another 2 year contract..
