NEW -> Contingent Buyer Assistance Program
Good Day all... been sort of a day-off for me; but I don't see how being on the phone and having to drive in the rain constitutes a day off... but oh well...

It's also Christmas morning... for Android; I knew MWC was going to be big, and we got some previews over the weekend, but I didn't know it was going to be like this...

I don't have time to do all the Android Goodness justice... so why don't I just let the big-boys take care of it... go on over to A/C and let us know what stands out for you...

I still hate all these phones with the humongous screens... does anyone care about battery life anymore?

Is it just me or is MWC = Android Convention...?  What happened to the other manufacturers...?  Most techs sites are just reporting Android... some Windows Mobile... and that is it...

I would love to see other mobile maker work harder to push the boundaries of what is possible in Technology; but going over to iMore... the hottest news over there is how to read your weight...

Ok... I'm at least intrigued again... now that it is finally finished and here...  you guys do have to admit; the concept is a fine one... one device for ALL

For some reason, that Padfone just doesn't interest me.  I keep thinking how less powerful it becomes when the phone has to power the tablet.  I'm actually ok with the 4.8" sized screen.  I'm kinda iffy about the Note sized phone at 5.3".

Boot to Gecko... first off, we've heard this coming; nice concept; html-5 & hats-off to the Mozilla team, and there seems to be a lot of potential... but...

it's not going to work, but I hope it will; and some Android users will flash the thing and play around with it for a weekend, but they will return...

plus... which manufacturer is going to go with Gecko in the factory..?

...and just the name, Firefox is such a cool name, Firecat, Firedog, Firecrab... all sound better

For Gecko to take off, it'll really need the developer community and hardware vendors to embrace it.  That will take time if it happens.

The RC household still uses stack and stacks of computer scratch paper; the kid loves to use his crayons, watercolors and we also recently bought a finger painting coloring set.  We don?t mind, paper is cheap, tangible and looks great on the refrigerator.  We have been looking into magna-doodles, but somehow either due to the kid or us; we haven?t found the right one yet.  There is this Aquadoodle pad we have to look at next, but we can?t seem to find it anywhere in stores.  I guess it doesn?t hurt to buy it on-line and just give it away if it doesn?t work out.

In the meantime, another way we have been practicing the ABCs without blowing through tons of paper is to use, Kid?s Doodle.  The drawing space on the HTC isn?t much, and I think the paid version does give you a bit more canvas but it?s good enough to practice one letter at a time.  The kid loves the app and its one way to keep him occupied anywhere.  He?s still a age where we would still like him to get messy but the Android is always helpful when we are out?

What a week... all the tech sites really covered MWC really well, I totally got a great sense of what went down, BGR's article this morning, really captured all the Android excitement...

Samsung?s Galaxy S II named best smartphone in the world, and Samsung is just getting started
BGR-samsung-galaxy-s-ii-t-mobile-2.jpg

?We are pleased to receive this honor from GSMA and believe that it?s a testament to Samsung?s innovation, quality products, and attention to consumer preferences,? Samsung?s mobile boss JK Shin said in response to the awards. ?We sold over 97 million smartphones in 2011, demonstrating that this is the right approach.?

Things in Tech change quickly... let's see this momentum carry into next week's iPad announcement...

Besides paper we use a rather old school but durable solution to writing ABCs and drawing:
Fisher-Price Doodle Pro Classic Blue $25 on Amazon
This thing is indestructible and never runs out of batteries! My son loves it--great for car trips or waiting for food at restaurants. A little bit bulky but he enjoys the larger real estate for drawing.
