Dems introduce bill to eliminate ICE, shift duties elsewhere

A group of liberal House Democrats on Thursday introduced legislation to abolish U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and shift the bureau?s various duties to other federal agencies.

The new proposal, unveiled by Democratic Reps. Mark Pocan (Wis.), Pramila Jayapal (Wash.) and Adriano Espaillat (N.Y.), is the first piece of legislation to tackle the thorny issue, which has become a political lightning rod on both sides of the ideological spectrum in recent weeks.

Liberal Democrats have latched on to the ?Abolish ICE? movement to protest President Trump?s aggressive approach to deportations, while Republicans have hammered the effort as a soft-on-crime strategy that threatens public safety.

Poll: Voters oppose abolishing ICE

A new POLITICO/Morning Consult poll shows that most voters oppose eliminating Immigration and Customs Enforcement ? the homeland security agency some liberal Democrats have called for abolishing.

Only 1 in 4 voters in the poll, 25 percent, believe the federal government should get rid of ICE. The majority, 54 percent, think the government should keep ICE. Twenty-one percent of voters are undecided.

Perhaps, but that Agent has produced plenty of great meme's and GIF's. Too bad he can't monetize them for maximum ROI.

My take away:

1) The GOP Senator who asked how truthful Stzrok was to his wife - too far.

2) The AM Stzrok - "I don't know 'nuffin about how those texts were written"

3) The PM Stzrok - "I wrote those texts because of how mean DJT was to an Immigrant Family who's son was killed...." Clearly a play to the camera.

4) Stzrok was interviewed by these folks privately. That's where the truth came out. This public interview as you could tell from the reactions was completely 180 degrees out of phase from the private interviews - thus the heat and push back.

5) Sheesh... I know these people are technically on my payroll, but if possible I'd fire the lot of them. There's more truth to be gathered from a troop of poo-flinging Gibbons than from anything seen to date.

A federal grand jury on Friday returned a new indictment against a dozen Russians as part of special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into alleged Russian meddling during the 2016 presidential campaign.

The indictment comes just days before President Donald Trump is set to meet with Russia's President Vladimir Putin.

The indictment targets 12 Russian intelligence officers for engaging in a sustained effort to hack networks of Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, the Democratic National Committee, and Hillary Clinton?s campaign. All 12 are members of the GRU, Russia's intelligence service. according to the court filing.
