Samantha Bee sorry for 'inappropriate, inexcusable' Ivanka Trump remarkhttps://www.theguardian.com/culture/2018/may/31/samantha-bee-ivanka-trump-late-night-tv
She continued: ?So now, after decades of ignoring the issue, Americans are finally paying attention. Well, most of us. Ivanka Trump, who works at the White House, chose to post the second most oblivious tweet we?ve seen this week.?

Bee, showing a photo Ivanka Trump posted of her and her son, addressed the president?s daughter directly: ?You know, Ivanka, that?s a beautiful photo of you and your child, but let me just say, one mother to another, do something about your dad?s immigration practices, you feckless cunt.?

Bee added: ?He listens to you. Put on something tight and low-cut and tell your father to fucking stop it.?

Samantha Bee's show will now be cancelled in 3... 2... 1...  Never.

Well, this is different because Ivanka Trump is a government official and Valerie Jarrett is only a.... um... former government official.... or something... yeah

Just waiting for those two "woke" posters fortune11 and Irvinecommuter to chime in... any second now... Bueller?

Unlike you, I don't have flexibility of watching this forum 24/7 while I punch #s into my mortgage spreadsheet and make $$

Samantha Bee is one the more mediocre comedians who is not really funny but her liberal bias gets her good critics reviews.  People like her and who was the other one (forget the name) use such sensationalism to stay in the news . Bill Maher on the other hand, is really funny for a change.  So was Michelle Wolf.

Rude comment, uncalled for, not funny or amusing to anyone with half a brain.  Just like the hundreds of Trump supporters wearing t-shirts with Hillary and the C word on it.  Doesn't excuse Samantha Bee. I don't even watch her show so firing her or not makes no difference to me

I have to agree with you on Bill Maher...

He is clearly a liberal, but he is a fair-minded liberal willing to hear out the other side and not simply shut them down.  (In fact, he gets criticized by other liberals for this reason.)

And some of his jokes are funny.  When's the last time Stephen Colbert told a funny joke?

GDPNow says, ?It is not an official forecast of the Atlanta Fed. Rather, it is best viewed as an updated estimate of real GDP growth based on available data for the current measured quarter. There are no subjective adjustments made to GDPNow,

Right...cause CBO is right at 3.3% but the Atlanta Fed is wrong.    But I believe you also touted the Atlanta fed when it projected a 5+% GDP growth.
https://seekingalpha.com/article/3975564-gdpnow

So now what?...the trend is your friend

The GDPNow model estimate for real GDP growth (seasonally adjusted annual rate) in the second quarter of 2018 is 4.8 percent on June 1, up from 4.7 percent on May 31. The nowcasts for second-quarter real consumer spending growth and second-quarter real private fixed investment growth increased from 3.4 percent and 4.6 percent, respectively, to 3.5 percent and 5.4 percent, respectively, after the employment report from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the construction spending report from the U.S. Census Bureau, and the Manufacturing ISM Report On Business from the Institute for Supply Management were released this morning.

Republicans Poised to Gain Senate Seats in 2018

My, how times have changed!

Shortly after Doug Jones won that special election in Alabama, the Republicans in Congress cut taxes and eliminated the Obamacare mandate. Having demonstrated that they could do something that their voters wanted, the GOP prospects began to improve. Now, with the elections just six months away, it seems that Republican are more likely to gain seats in the Senate rather than lose control.

JIMHO, it's because the Dems are largely doubling down on the Never Trump mantra.  Their primary hope at this point is Trump's trial balloon on pardons partially floats with the rabid base and he blows the GOPs legs off with an actual pardon.

Sadly, I think Trump could pardon himself, his entire family and election team today for any potential issue with the election to 'end the witch hunt and allow the country to move on' and 30% of the voters would cheer.  The partisanship has become that bad.  The same goes for the other side, what Mueller finds or doesn't find is irrelevant, 'Trump cheated' and needs to be impeached.

Sadly it shows in their candidates and positions so many Anti-Trump, Trumps.

Democrats Hope an Asian Influx Will Help Turn Orange County Blue
https://mobile.nytimes.com/2018/06/...california.html#click=https://t.co/Kq4uRroOKr

Known for its devotion to tasteful Mediterranean-ish homes and strip malls that bear approximately the same architectural relationship to Tuscany as the Las Vegas Venetian does to Venice, the company has cultivated a few new trademarks in recent years.

trump going to flip the OC korean vote with peace on the korean peninsula.  wonder why the article didn't even mention the effect that could have?

Boom!

Are Democrats Blowing It?

But there?s a problem: Trump hasn?t flamed out. Mueller so far hasn?t come up with credible evidence of Russian collusion, and even the high hopes surrounding porn star Stormy Daniels have gone flaccid. Trump himself seems alternatively irked by his office and trollishly empowered by it, but never willing to walk away. That?s dispiriting to the Democratic base, which spends each morning fuming over the latest Trumpian twitterstorm, thrilling to the extremist musings of kooks such as Maxine Waters (D., Calif.).

But on policy, the Democratic record looks even worse. Trump?s rhetoric continues to
fuel feelings of unmoored chaos, but the markets continue to soar, the job market grows, and we?re not in the middle of any serious foreign-policy crisis. In 2016, CNN Money warned, ?A Trump win would sink stocks.? Nope. Pelosi warned that Trump?s tax cuts were mere ?crumbs? that would amount to nothing. Nope. Hollywood celebrities warned about the significant possibility of global thermonuclear war. Nope. Democrats promised a dystopian hellscape. Instead, they got an economy so good that the New York Times ran a piece headlined ?We Ran Out of Words to Describe How Good the Jobs Numbers Are.?

So who?s going to pay for N. Korea?s hotel room?

?As preparations are underway for a US-North Korea summit, US officials are trying to solve the logistical issue of who will pay for North Korean leader Kim Jong Un's housing, according to a new report.?

Who?s going to pay for Rodman?s hotel room? Lol

Another option is for Rodman to room with Trump or Kim. But I highly doubt they would let that happen.

This bodes well for November...

California Sen. Josh Newman seems headed for removal from office for supporting higher gas taxhttp://www.latimes.com/politics/la-pol-ca-josh-newman-recall-20180605-story.html

The state Republican Party targeted Newman over his support last year for Senate Bill 1, which increased the gas tax and vehicle fees to pay for road and bridge repairs and mass transit improvements.

Newman was one of 81 legislators who backed the measure, but Republicans sought to tap voter discontent over the higher levies in this district, a longtime GOP stronghold previously represented by termed-out Republican Sen. Bob Huff.

The election was also a proxy battle between the state?s Democratic and Republican parties and a new Republican representative will hurt Democrats? ability to regain a supermajority in the state Legislature.

Carl DeMaio, a former member of the San Diego City Council who organized the recall, has said Newman was selected for a recall because of his narrow victory over Chang, a former Assemblywoman. Newman won that race by fewer than 2,500 votes out of nearly 318,000 cast.

DeMaio has called the move to target Newman the ?gazelle strategy,? which focuses on seemingly vulnerable Democrats.

Recalls are rare in California. Just five elected officials have been recalled since 1913.

Democratic leaders, including Gov. Jerry Brown, helped raise more than $4 million to fight Newman?s recall. Also, the Senate Democratic Caucus allowed the state Fair Political Practices Commission to lift a $4,400 cap on contributions to Newman's anti-recall campaign from other senators.

The Democrats even tried to cheat and they still lost..  Doh!
