Irvine or Baker Ranch (Lake Forest)

NEW -> Contingent Buyer Assistance Program
Welcome to Irvine's dirty secrets. You outsiders know very little and this is just a scratch on the surface of what massive amount of information not being disclosed.

Use an Irvine technique. Plant a lot of trees and you don't see it? You can't smell it so it isn't there. the buses that transport the convicts have no labels.

Here's the entrance picture.  It was a two minute walk from my office.

I think people reading this thread who don't know any better & don't recognize it will assume, due to the context of this thread, that this post means this entrance is off of the main road. No, you're not crazy. It's not there. The entrance can not be seen unless you veer off the road, drive up Musick Honor Farm road, into the business complex, cross Hammond, go to the back of the complex, and then you arrive at the guard's shack.

Do you think property values will drop if Musick has to put up signs like this:

I'm sure homeowners and the city would fight these sign postings.

as far as the 8k tax because if MELLO ROOS, I bet most of you who made comments about if you have to worry about the 8k you shouldn't be buying a million dollar home are the same ones who shop endlessly for mortgages to save a $100 a month, or do other " cost" saving measures. If you want to pay the .08 more in taxes, thank you. It doesn't make or break me, it is just a matter of choice. I pay it on 2 houses now and decided I could do better elsewhere. Hey if you want to live in Irvine and pay more for your home, taxes etc. Go ahead. Free country. I will find a house just as nice, in a good neighborhood and pay less. Btw , if someone does escape from Musick, don't you think they would head for the neighborhoods with all the million dollar houses? I just love the way you guys bash Baker. I guess we will see what happens. I am keeping my homes as rentals, and buying in Baker. That's my choice. If you want to live in Irvine, good for you. I am certain you will enjoy it. it is a nice city.

Again, back to my comments.. it's your choice.  In fact.. people make these decisions all the time when buying a house.  Irvine has it's attractiveness.. but is it worth it to everybody?  I highly doubt it.  BR is kind of different.. It's priced higher than most LF homes because it's right next to Irvine.  That's why I went to check it out.. I mean why  not right?  No MR and on the border of Irvine.  Just stating that most people who didn't buy in BR and instead bought in Irvine, generally did not like driving by the jail.  Maybe it's just a mental thing.  I liked BR's neighborhood and look.. but in the end couldn't get passed the jail sight during daily commute.  Also, outside of BR.. you can tell that it was not zoned properly.  There are commercial and industrial zones right next to them.  We also drove by the FR shopping center.. it's just not manicured like Irvine.  Again.. every buyer is different.  Irvine is a premium around OC.  It's up to you if you want to pay for it.  If not, there are other great options like South County cities and other cities like Orange.

If you don't like MR go ahead and sell me your homes and enjoy the luxurious MR-Less Baker Ranch. TR and QH right?? I'll have my GC draw up some docs and my PE shop will contact you.  I'll pay you 3% over market right now for them! That 3% will help you pay for your gas when you want to drive to the Woodbury Town Center.

I have nothing against BR ::), I just don't like the location, the feel, and the lack of walkable shopping centers... BR's driving distance to Woodbury Town Center is 16 minutes... That's a full minute further than PP, big negative in my book!!

All joking aside, if you want to sell those two homes, PM me.

Huh? The shopping center is going to be walking distance from BR. Construction on it is taking place right now, south of the 241, "east" side Alton.

Homie is having a great day actually! Going to be meeting my awesome friend for lunch at Baker Ranch today.  I'm bringing food from 1146 and we are both going to dress up in bright orange prison outfits and tour the models!!

LOL!!!

Yeah, hi, we'll take 2 homes, please. Financing? Um, no thanks. Uh, our bank has great interest rates, zero percent at this time. Just take it. Take it quick.

You guessed right, in fact I read on The Patch that the city of LF already has declined to put up the hitchhiker signs. Doesn't look like Irvine has either.
