Troll them.

Buy in Irvine for the best schools. Send kid to the top college. Pick a career that makes a lot of money. With money then buy a lot of LV bags, drive fancy car and buy oversized $4m McMansion in Irvine.
Live happily after
PS. Eat 85 Celsius pastries.

General speaking once you are in a high school where you have more Asian students than white students like Uni and Northwood..... the competitive school environment becomes unhealthy and your chances to get into an Ivy goes down while parents work overtime and have no time to spend with their kids. It is a lose/lose situation for both parents and kids.
I think what is more important is to discover your kids natural gifts and talents and support them, love them, and encourage them as parents to become their full potential as adults. Perhaps I am not into this whole status thing.. and don't really care if my children get into an Ivy or not.. but do care they become productive successful adults and I would be part of their lives. Life doesn't end once you get into the Ivy, it is just the beginning.
My best friend went to Harvard and now interviews Harvard applicants on his weekends. I will tell that we connect at a deep level as friends but we are very very different in our thinking. I am actually trying to convince him to investment in real estate but he is so scared lol. At the same time he can ace any scan tron exam you give him.
