i really miss living in a small town. i remember my family could call the police dept and tell them we'd be out of town. the patrolling officer would always make sure to stop by once a day. and the mailman knows to deliver my parents mail to the neighbors when no one's home. the mailman has been the same fella for about the last 15 yrs.

kali -- here's something i dont get. it seems like the difference between a $30 cab fare and $60 one is a deal killer for you, but it seems pretty trivial if you're talking about potentially the biggest personal investment of one's life. hoa, mello roos, sq footage, premiums on schools, view, zip code, and countless other minutiae will make the cab fare completely insignificant.

i agree that sq footage doesnt impress. around here, it's just more tract home. hey, i've got more tract home than you! impressive...

can you imagine bringing a girl home and she's like, "i need to go freshen up" then goes to the bathroom. few minutes later she comes out all excited...

"woooooo-weee that's not just a powder room. HOLLA AT YO FULL DOWNSTAIRS BATH!"

go with 2000-2500 sq ft and save the extra dough for some decent non-amjack clothes and twenty-twos on the ride.
