How much does the Irvine Company hate this site?

NEW -> Contingent Buyer Assistance Program
Personally, I wish the Irvine Company did not care. I would be very happy if they left us alone and left the posters in this forum alone. However, that has not been their past behavior. There are those who know about the subtext here, but suffice it to say the Irvine Company <em>has </em>paid very close attention to this site in the past at great expense.

We have freedom of speech, so there is nothing they can really do about our activities. We are going to continue to document this epic real estate crash and discuss all the implications for Irvine and anything else this crash impacts. We are probably a thorn in the side of the Irvine Company, but they (hopefully) have much bigger worries than a website reporting on the deterioration of home values in Irvine. If they really wanted us to go away, they could offer us cash, and if it were enough, I would probably take it and disappear into the night (of course, if the number was too low, I would publish it and embarrass them.) Since the chances of that are about like winning the lottery, you can count on seeing this site in operation for the next several years at least.

At some point we will become an asset to the Irvine Company because when prices are low enough to be affordable, everyone will hate real estate, and we will be blogging on what a great bargain buying in Irvine has become. If there is one thing we will be consistent about it is being on the other side of consumer sentiment on the real estate market.

Winex,

I think that idea is already taken!

Raymond, thanks. I also find that incredibly interesting. I didn't just think up the saying, I borrowed it from a company that I used to work for that is in the night vision field - and it wasn't FLIR Systems.

<p>"We are probably a thorn in the side of the Irvine Company, but they (hopefully) have much <strong>bigger worries</strong> than a website reporting on the deterioration of home values in Irvine."</p>

<p>...such as the <em>actual</em> deterioration of home values in Irvine!</p>

<p>"If they really wanted us to go away, they could offer us cash, and if it were enough, I would probably take it and disappear into the night ..."</p>

<p>If we ever see an economy car parked in the driveway of <a target="_blank" href="http://www.redfin.com/stingray/do/printable-listing?listing-id=1436865&rc=blg_irvine&utm_source=irvinehousingblog&utm_medium=blog&utm_nooverride=1">56 Golden Eagle, Irvine, CA 92603</a>, we will know IR sold out. </p>

Funny comment about 20 or so regular here. There must be a way as administrator to know how many unique visitor IHB gets every week. Must be a lot, plus all the talking you do with family and friends, and so on. IHB surely prevented a lot of home sales. There might also be some realtards that hate seeing their home advertisements being ridiculized by IR.

I caught that IR, you just blatantly offered to sell your soul to the devil...

Make sure you get at least 8 figures and a new house. Then start up the Irvine Homeowners' Blog.

(btw this post was written on my Wii... no miis were harmed in this posting)

I would certainly be selling out my favorite hobby, but if someone were willing to pay me a lot of money to do nothing, I could do that. They would have to be very desperate or very stupid...

<p>Irvine Renter when you have your BBQ parties be sure to invite your future neighbors. The presidents of the 3 major TIC divisions. Apartment, Residential Development, and Finance. Don't forget your agent John McMonigle and his 3 Little League coaches Mark, Shaun, and Garret. Lastly but not the least the Chrysler spokeman wearing the red shirt.</p>

<p>Roo, just me alone I knew of 12 people delaying their home purchase because of IHB. Take that and exponentially factor in among the non member lurkers and regular members the result affects consumer confidence psychologically. </p>

<p>New home prices determine land value. Builders can't make the equation work thus will stop buying expensive land. TIC has many divisions but the bulk of the fortune is made from selling residential land. To sell expensive land TIC has to create nice packaging like the Tiffany blue bag for some ordinary silver. TIC adds nice landscape, parks, and recreation structures to enhance the appeal of ordinary land. </p>

<p>The recent suspension of projects in Portola Springs, Orchard Hills, Woodbury East and Laguna Crossings are definitely a reflection of consumer confidence. The recent completed condo complex in Woodbury East is shut down due to no buyers. The hostess made some comments about IHB for the sluggish turn out but she knew that the lack of design was the real reason.</p>

<p>Psshh! You just gave them another facet for the profiler!</p>

Re: the comment about 20 regular posters. I don't think that's an accurate gauge of this site's impact. Thousands of people lurk only, rarely or never posting - kind of like how I lurk on Ben's blog, or piggington, or CR.

<p><em>they might hate the market and the overall economy, but give me a break... this site... ? if they really would they would buy it for half a mill and shut it down... </em></p>

<p>That's OK. Zov, IR, myself, or Graph would spin-up another by the end of the week. </p>

<p>OK, I'm confused Juan. What did you mean by this paragraph ?</p>

<p>Mr. Garner, Ley and Hennigan are the TIC executives who built their custom home in Shady Canyon. The 3 baseball pros are Mark McGwire, Shaun Green and Garret Anderson. Both Shaun and Garret have $48 million salary contract. Lastly, the guy with the red shirt is Tiger Wood who is also a member of the Shady Golf Club and he does the Chrysler ad on TV and numerous endorsements for Nike and Tag Heuer. John McMonigle has been the top agent/ broker of the country. He sold close to 3/4 billion of real estates per year for several years in a row and he also has his private development company building a speculative custom home with its own private lake and crossing bridge near Pelican Hills for an asking price of $72 million. He currently has 4 cutest little kids.</p>
