[quote author="graphrix" date=1223683401][quote author="PANDA" date=1223664619]Graph, first it is the Korean Won, not the Yuan. Yuan/Remebi is Chinese currency. C'mon, you claim to love K-Food and have a Korean best friend and you don't even know this?

So IPO has warned me 26 times through PM and Graph have publicly told me 26 times not to bet against the dollar. That is a total of 52 warnings to Panda.

I think that i am going to go ahead and bet against the dollar, especially right now. I think that some of you sitting on 100% U.S. dollars as the ultimate safe haven are in for a big suprise here soon. Laugh at the Panda now, and let time pass.</blockquote>

Yes, I know that it is the Korean Won, and from previous posts you would know this if you read them and retained them. I was tired and made a little mistake. But really it isn't important who gets the correct spelling of the currency right, it is important who is right on the direction of the dollar. So you go ahead and bet against the dollar, I'm sure you will be right some day. For now, and the near future, the dollar will be going up and Panda will be losing money. DXY is up $0.94 1.12% today, the trend is your friend Panda, don't betray your friend. Can I come with you and deuce when you are looking at condos in Santa Ana instead of Irvine because you keep getting hosed on the Korean Won?

IHBers, Panda is a bigger nutter than me, and I know it is hard to believe, but it's true. So choose your investments wisely, and some friendly advice... DO NOT BET AGAINST THE DOLLAR! Ever since Panda has been betting against the dollar it has only gone up. Now wonder Panda's posts are a little angry these days, he has been horribly wrong about the dollar and all he has left is to make fun of the people who warned him not to bet against the dollar. Sad Panda, very, very sad Panda.</blockquote>

C'mon... Graph, Panda gets SAD, but he does not get MAD. Hey, so you right that the dollar is kicking foreign currencies royally right now in the short term, but you have to give me credit that i am not holding any shares of any foreign companies or U.S. stocks right now. Perhaps my Swiss, Yen, Euro, and Canadian is down 7 - 10% YTD, but nothing compared to the 35% - 40% decline that I would of been in had i been in the U.S. Stock Market or 50% down if had heavy positions in Chinese and Emerging market stocks. Yes, I am looking at the opportunity to buy and go long on Emerging Markets and FXI at dirt cheap prices.

Graph, my currencies are well diversified an believe it or not, my two largest currency holdings are still the U.S. dollar and Gold as no one can be 100% sure of the future. I believe that Gold is and will be the ulimate currency of all. I am buying Japanese Yen and Swiss Francs right now and I am keeping my powder dry for the ulimate opportunity which I believe is Asia and Emerging Markets for next 10 - 20 years.

Yes, if i was still holding 100% in U.S. stocks and Asian stocks, i will be calling IR2 to see condos in South Central Los Angeles, not Santa Ana, CA.

I do agree with Awgee's poop story on fiat currencies, but let me tell you my own Panda story. In the traditional Korean and Indian culture, we are set up by our parents by potential marriage candidates. Let's say that my mom set me up with a Swiss girl, Canadian girl, Japanese girl, Chinese girl, and a fat ugly American girl. The fat ugly American girl weighs 400 lbs, even uglier in the inside than how she looks in the outside. Loves to spend money and has a trillon dollar balance in her credit card. I also heard through the grape vine that she has a habit of lieing often and is a dishonest person. In the outside, she looks very rich living in nice SFR in Turtle Rock which she bought with 0% down, and drives around in her brand new S-Class Mercedes also on credit. The Chinese girl in the other hand is much prettier, much more honest, and definitely very much into saving money. I will give her a rating of 8.5 out of 10. The Swiss girl, Japanese Girl, and the Canadian Girl are in between the Frugal Pretty Chinese Girl and the Fat Ugly American Girl.

The following week, I was studying for my finance exam at the University of Michigan Business School library, and looked over and noticed this incredibily, beautiful, Hot, intelligent blond girl, dressed in a pretty yellow dress. I approached her asked her where she is from. She told me that she was from the land of Gold. I asked her if she would go out with me. She said "Sure". Later I found out that she is the most honest person i have ever met and is more beautiful inside than her beauty in the outside. She also told me that her favorite color is yellow therefore she likes yellow skinned Asian Men. I said, "COOL!" The Golden girl will bring the the lies and deceit of the Fat Ugly American Girl to the light. Panda goes back to his mom and tells her that he has found the perfect girl he wants to marry. Her is name is Gold, and she is from the land of Gold.

THE END

Expect a split in the EU into two factions of those EU Countries that are using the Euro as its currency.

Call it the Latin Euro and the Northern Europe Euro.

France and Germany will most likely revive the Franc and the D. Mark respectively as a companion currency alongside the Northern Europe Euro currency as a back-up. Both will be accepted currencies until a final determination is made on the longevity of any common Northern Euro currency.

Russia has already begun formal discussions on a Gold backed Rouble and given their immense Natural Resources reserves and the build-up of their Gold mining investments over the course of the last 10 years it will be a very easy switch for them.

Argentina and Brazil have already broken form the USD Reserve for settling trade accounts between each country. This was adopted over the Summer and went off with out a hitch.

China has been building it gold reserves and is now the largest sovereign nation invested in African Gold Mining, as well as oil exploration in Canada, and the Caribbean (Cuba).

What should concern the US and the UK the most is that no inclusion of the USD as a reserve currency going forward or the pound sterling as a benchmark currency for European Trade is being considered on a going forward basis.

What we are witnessing is a stern demand by BIS and stronger EU nations like Germany to Paulson, that the toxic bonds need to be repatriated to explode on American soil. The dollar rally is nothing more than the closeout of that debt being settled after which the USD will most likely shed 30%-50% of it value in a stunningly short amount of time. Months not years.

Don't underestimate Gold in the new World order. Just go out and try to buy some physical bullion today. Every Sovereign Mint in the world has either stopped or dramatically suspended any sales to the Public. And Every Central Bank has publicly said that it has suspend any future sales. The Paper futures manipulation on COMEX and LME are about to implode, as no Physical deliveries can be made on contracts the demand delivery at settlement. This may occur before the month is out."

Finally the DOW is surging. Now I want the DOW to get back up above 10,000. Why, the sudden drop in the U.S. dollar?

ACPME,

I had a thing for blonde girls when i was in junior high and high school. When i entered college, my taste totally change to Asian women. I have been married for three years now and I have to say that my wife is still GOLD. Oh, she knows that i had a thing for blondes when i was little Panda.

Let it surge. I'm very close to placing a crap load of put orders. IMO this surge is backed by garbage, and the market will continue south.

I agree that overall this will very likely be a dead-cat bounce, but don't jump the gun too early on your puts...We could see a pretty big bounce this week expecially with options ex. on Friday

Bluefire,

How far up do you think this dead cat will bounce in terms of the DOW before it heads south again?

Are we talking 9000 or 10000 here for the DOW? Oops.. we are already past 9000.

This Fake rally in the U.S. Stock Market may be the Last chance for everyone to get out of the stock market if they have not already.

Good question. If I had the answer to this question I'd be a rich man. But I don't really care about the short term bounce as much as I do about the more medium-term (6-12 months) trend, which is decidedly down.

Panda, the other day you posted NOT to get out of the stock market because it was too late.

Now you are saying to get out if we haven't already.

Make up your mind, dude!

As you know I base my entire portfolio on your word. :coolsmirk:

C'mon CalGal, I am no Jim Cramer? I am just a simple Panda!

I mean if the DOW is above 10,000 I would totally liquidate if I hold any U.S. stocks. I think the DOW hit some crazy number like 7800 when I told everyone to hold and not sell. It would be terrible to sell your holding at that kind of a loss. I try to make my move when the market is acting irrationally like right now. Dollar is down, but Gold is also down. I'm buying Gold.

The market is always irrational in the short-term but will eventually move back to the fundamentals.

Anyone know which ETF is better to buy for Chinese currency?

CYB? or CNY? Sell your overvalued U.S. Dollars and Buy undervalued Chinese Currencies. I think Panda is now learning what arbitrage means :)

hmmm i wonder where today would represent in this chart...
