I don't bet on the short term.</blockquote>

PANDA ...congrats on the good DOW under 10,000 call.

Too bad you never bet, you'd have an extra $50.</blockquote>

Optimus,

Like you would of paid up $50 had i really took you up on the bet.</blockquote>

YES I WOULD HAVE YOU PIECE OF $HIT!!

<em>

Friendly wager than Panda.... $50.

If the Dow drops below 10,000 from now until Dec. 31, 2008....you win. If not, then I win.

We will use the honor system and refer to this thread....you post here often and I come on here all the time, I think I registered since early 2007. Plus we have tons of IHB witnesses.

You up for the bet? </em></blockquote>

"YES I WOULD HAVE YOU PIECE OF $HIT!!"

Now my little pimple Optimus, was that type of language necessary on a friendly public forum like this? Either you lost a lot of money or you don't like the Panda very much. Weren't you the fella telling me that Gold is headed down towards $600. Watch Gold prices soar to between $1000 - $1200 before year end.</blockquote>

You make statements like that....

Well here's another offer...

If gold hits $1100 before 12/31/08...YOU WIN $50..if not I win $50

Care to MAN-UP and take the bet ? Or do you just like to act like your typical blowhard self and only claim your "GREAT CALLS" months later?

[quote author="blackvault" date=1223688593]Lol. Optimus no way thats fair. I'll take the bet though if you give me 14.7:1 odds. Thats how confident I am. (sarcasm)</blockquote>

Hey Black..of course its fair..consider the 5% swings in the market is a daily occurrence, I need to price in volatility ;) Plus, PANDA hates the US Economy and thinks the USD is only a notch above TP.

I'm backing you Prime. Gold will fail. I went short yesterday at 905. The only thing holding it there is fear itself. Nothing fundamental under it.

totally off the topic but...

optimus, its quite the shame you snagged such a great screenname and totally havent utilized the built-in gimmick that comes with it. heck, not even an avatar!

like just right now you totally could have said something like:

EURO vs DOLLAR! ONE SHALL STAND... AND ONE SHALL FALL!

Hahaha...actually I can't do that since I don't think the Euro will exist in 6 months :D

ONE SHALL RISE and ONE SHALL CEASE TO EXIST!

Well roll me in sh!t and dip me in cracker crumbs. 800 point rally on the Dow within the space of one hour. Obviously someone told the PPT that I had just placed a 401k transfer order to move 5% of my nest egg from a stable value fund into index funds. I'll get today's closing price on my purchases. Monday, 800pt drop. I betcha.

This market is designed to separate people from their money, I tells ya.

Oh wait, 350pt reversal in the time it took for me to type this.. Nevermind.

So I'm sitting here looking over the options for my IRA at Fidelity. I can buy pretty much anything with this account. Any of the gold ETF's deemed trustworthy?

Looks like I?m right behind you.

Too bad, I missed the memo about the American consumer being dead.

The floor fell out of YUM and URBN.

My Basic Metal short etf has worked well though.

I think in the video he said deflation first then inflation. The title is kind of misleading.
