Greenwood in Tustin Legacy

NEW -> Contingent Buyer Assistance Program
I got pulled over on Jamboree for going 72 last year, I wasn't the only one going that speed that day, but was the unlucky one...bike cop was off the Warner entrance as I was heading SW towards Barranca.

I've only seen a cop there one other time since the ticket, but I've moved from Tustin Ranch to Irvine so I don't take that route as much anymore.  Just a friendly note to those who live at Greenwood and speed on Jamboree that the cops are out on Jamboree occasionally. **As a side note I fought the ticket and won.

LOL no wall, no matter how tall, will be able to drown out the noise from cars zooming by, not to mention, how an eyesore  a 20 ft wall will be!  There is also pollution and emission from cars, would you really want your kids playing in the back yard breathing car exhaust, or opening your windows?  Just amazes me how people will drop a million dollars to live by the freeway.

I guess a million dollars doesn't get what it use too , even in the bubble years you can get a better homes for a million.

Just look at Columbus Square in tustin the location is near the industrial park and railroad, those homes people paid a million dollars back during the bubble are selling below bubble values , while the same houses purchased in Irvine already exceeded bubble prices.

I warned a few buyers to not buy Sheldon because I call Jamboree the "Jamboree Freeway."

I speed on jamboree at usually 70 and many cars are keeping up with me. My Warner exit speed comes down to about 40-50. So jamboree is definitely freeway terrain there. No wall is big or sound proof enough IMHO

Thanks for the warning. This is when radar detectors come in handy  :) good for you on getting out of it, how'd you do it?

For the 4th - 5th time, if you are going to buy in Greenwood, then buy either Crawford or Stafford as these lots are centrally located and away from Jamboree.

Suppressed values of the homes next to Jamboree will affect homes in the central locations too.

I still think spending $1m+ and MRs outside of Irvine isn't the ideal thing to do, people don't even want to do that at Portola Springs and that's in Irvine.

If TL had better community infrastructure, that might help. Maybe once the schools, large park and shopping are done, it will be okay.

Where have you been? You haven't come across or heard of the police motorcycle on Jamboree?

Or just don't buy there?

I drive the Jamboree drag every day to Newport and cops are out all the time (during early morning rush...before it is too crowded). It isn't as bad as it was a year or so ago (where it seemed like they must have had a six month sting) but you got to be careful cause before you know it you are going 70-75.  Never really notice them going home (by that point enough traffic that it would be pretty hard to speed).

22350 was what I was cited for, it's the basic speed law that can be fought yourself various ways if you're up to it. A lot of info online which I briefly skimmed, but instead I hired a local lawyer. I vetted him and spoke to him in person since I've heard of shady ticket lawyers out there. I didn't have time to do it myself, wife was due, had other priorities. Lawyer got me out of it easily he said, $200 well spent.

I got mine in the evening around 7:15pm... :-\ I used to drive this route most days of the week too in the afternoon/evening and like you said rarely saw them during this time.

Forget the radar detector unless your are on the main tollway (CHP jurisdiction). IPD and TPD (not sure about Newport) use laser. You can usually spot them well ahead of time during the day if you pay attention. They love hiding in the shade under the Walnut Ave overpass (both directions), Edinger on ramp, and West bound Warner Ave exit.

Usually waze + detector + laser jammer is the comprehensive solution. Or you could just follow the speed limit but that would be too hard 😀

You are going to trust an app?
When I've used Waze in the past, they were pretty good with traffic incidents and cops.  They were wrong on couple occasions on the fastest route.
I try to traverse the road off peak as much as possible or at all if I can help it.

What he cited me for was something that can be fought as I stated in a previous post. From what I researched at the time and my conversation with the lawyer he was going to use some of those tactics I read about and show up in court on my behalf if everything failed prior (fight it via mail first, etc.)  It did get to the point where there was a date set for court and he showed up on my behalf and the officer showed up too.  Lawyer won the case for me even though the officer showed up which is why it was a good $200 spent.

The officer really had it out for me since the lawyer said Tustin PD shows up 50% of the time whereas Irvine PD shows up 90% of the time from his experience. So if you get a ticket from Irvine PD and it gets to court, be prepared b/c they'll probably show up. I got my ticket from Tustin PD.

And as USC stated, Ticket Clinic worked for him.

If I don't feel obligated to inform the waze users if there is an accident or cop, why should other people?
