I am surprised at the lack of organization and protest around this issue. Is it just TI, that does not have a method of organizing? Is there a better place to get with people who want to oppose this? I am thinking about starting a walk in my neighborhood just to spread awareness about this proposal.
Before we start this protest, can we band together in protest towards our HOA to clean the damn community bbq grills in a timely manner?

Which community? I say let's start organize this as soon as possible.

Go ahead and do that. While we watch the NBA finals.
;) (hopefully I get home in time-maybe Ill leave right now)

On a serious note, a few hundred phone calls from frantic sounding local voters will do it , at least as a baseline.  Don't necessarily need a physical protest march to begin with.

If anyone already has the names of the bureaucrats / politicians that have the final say over this, please post it here.  We can easily generate their contact info .  Pretty cheap to send an online fax or make a scripted phone call to their office .  Takes a few minutes of everyone's time but well worth it.

I agree that clean BBQ grills are important!....what are we protesting again?  OH yeah clean BBQ grills in a timely matter!

You know how I clean my grill? I turn on all the burners and close the lid for 30 min.  Burns the ever living shit out of everything inside...If you wanna scrub the grill after...well that's up to you.

The last time someone tried to organize something through TI, they had to change their name to '.' and disappear.

Good point! I think he was in the group photo in the newspaper? Then I believe Yellow reposted the pic on TI.

it looks the shelter may happen near great park if there is no opposition. As a buyer in CVE community I reached out to the CalPac sales. They didn't offer me much guidance as expected other than indicating that it's upto the county. Unless more people get more awareness of this issue to oppose, the shelter may get built....

Thanks to this forum for at least making me aware of this proposed shelter. I will lose  money if I back out now but the loss may be worse if the shelter gets build close to GP and CVE

What new info do you have that makes you think  it will happen?

First it was the toxic dirt, then the cemetery, now the homeless shelter...what's next for GP?

There's a new dump site opening too.  You can see the directional sign on the way to the Farmers Market.

I am not. Looking at the composition of the city council, it seems like residents of newer communities (i.e. built last 10-15 yrs) either don't vote or have no clout, presumably bc they don't engage civically.  Maybe they expect TIC to come to the rescue on every issue (but then wonder how TIC screws them elsewhere)

Go to a smaller city like Dana point or Laguna beach and they do a far better job protecting their interests.

Also, if I remember correctly. I don't know how it got revealed but people were asking on TI for a discount from him at his work or asking him is that the best deal they can get. (Maybe that got old)

do you have more info about this new dump site?

Nope.  But you can see the sign before you turn right into the Farmers Market parking lot.

This is suppose to be a GP commercial construction debris while the development of the Great Park sport park is being built and other main infrastructure of the park develop The ideas is to relieve, congestion of sand cayon and portola traffic to the bowman. The debris will then transport  to an alternative location at off hours when less motorist on the road.
