Texas governor's hands-off approach to Covid-19 has allowed the virus to thrive
https://www.yahoo.com/news/texas-governors-hands-off-approach-100012728.html

California?s per capita infection rate is higher.

Our current per capita 7 day average deaths is also higher.

Texas has more overall deaths per capita, largely due to the July spike in Houston.

That sorta tell me that these strict CA lockdowns probably don't really work in curbs covid cases as my guess is that people then just get together more together at their homes or other places.  These strict lockdowns just increase the covid fatigue for people in general.  It's up to people in being smart to keep case counts down.

Exactly what Florida and many other states have done...Open/closed, the outcome is similar.  The open states are thriving, the closed states are imploding.  This was an exercise in power for the Boy King...now he has no choice but to open even with rising infections here.

Sorry Florida is not thriving and is not covid free. Again, you are always welcome to leave since you hate California.

Isn't the current downward trend in California a result of the stay-at-home lockdowns?

The problem is people just don't adhere to the protocols until problems show up.

And morekaos' comparisons to other states is so flawed. I won't bother to explain why because we know he won't listen... he just looks at his own bubble and makes his own science like many others. Meanwhile people are losing their parents, kids and siblings to this terrible pandemic.

Wear your masks... double up if you can.

I don't know if the downturn is as a result of the lockdowns or if it's as a result of the holidays being over and people not congregating together in bigger groups for the past 3+ weeks.  I get some of the restrictions like indoor dining and capacity limitations for stores but banning outdoor dining was a bit much IMO.

Again, read...didn?t say that they were covid free... only that they are no worse off than shutdown us...actually am going to Coral Gables to visit friends this month...$135 round trip...travel is so cheap right now, may head there again before summer. So much fun. ;) >:D

CA issued the Stay At Home order on December 3rd. LA County hospitalizations were at 2,572.

Today, when they lifted the order, LAC hospitalizations are 6,697.

The fact that a governor can arbitrarily shut down a state and businesses and then arbitrarily open a state without regard to science and freedom should be a concern and lesson for our future as leaders and citizens.

This guy trying to give us lesson how to handle covid. But he thinks Trump did a great job with Covid.

If we wore masks before and was not told it was fake by Trump and other Republicans we wouldn?t be like this.
Morekas I think you kiss your credibility when it comes to covid.

Don?t need to...Trumps only mistake was putting his faith in fools like governor Nuisance who bungled their economies and their vaccine allocations.

So how do you explain Florida? A state with no mask mandate who has been open for the last 90 days, why are they not all dead? Or at the very least worse than us and our little lock down, face mask world? ...we lose on all counts...

The Times notes that COVID cases in the last 90 days when adjusted for population is higher - but not by much- in Florida than in California at 1,903 per 100,000 compared to 1,629 per 100,000, near identical.

Deaths tells a similar story. Over the last 90 days, Florida has recorded 33 deaths per 100,000 in comparison with 15 deaths per 100,000. Once more their curves appear similar with fatalities spiking around mid-January.

How do the states compare when it comes to COVID-19 hospitalizations?

The COVID Tracking Project, which has been recording hospitalizations in every state, does not have a figure for all hospitalizations ever reported in California while, in Florida, this data was not made publicly available until July.

At its peak on January 12, California reported a single-day total of 22,665 people hospitalized due to the virus while Florida reported 7,762 people on January 14.

When adjusted for 100,000, California still has a higher hospitalization rate.

California has a rate of about 56 hospitalizations per 100,000 while Florida has about 35 per 100,000.

Say what you want. Believe your own fake stories. Like the one that you know many doctors that work in a hospital and don?t wear a mask. Also, they don?t get sick. (Must be a super power)
I am laughing and I really feel sorry for the people who believe your nonsense.

Makin stuff up again...please provide quote and date where I said that I ?know many doctors that work in a hospital and don?t wear a mask.?...I?ll wait.
::) >:D

You look it up. Why would I lie. You made multiple posts that your doctor friend do not wear masks at work or doesn?t believe in masks.

Now your changing it. I would look it up but it doesn?t exist...let?s see you find it...you can?t find what isn?t there Eye. I?ll wait.

Naw. I?m looking over meme stocks right now. I know what you said, so you look it up. It may not be word for word. But you did say doctor relatives and or friends many that don?t wear masks.

No I didn?t but you go on spreading fake news if it makes you happy. Can?t find what isn?t there but I know you like to make up whatever you want. Easy to prove your right...all my posts are there, just find it...but I know you won?t or actually, I know you can?t.
