Coronavirus Recession

NEW -> Contingent Buyer Assistance Program
Did they just close their eyes and think of PPP?
I see a double standard. That the right is complaining about unemployment, but they are not complaining about PPP loans I mean PPP free money grants.

I will take if a step further if we had a pure shutdown across the board in the US. Maybe covid would have been gone or close to be gone.
The America way is to throw money at the problem. (Trillions and billions of dollars at the problem)

So open up the economy and enforce social distancing and require people to wear masks.

There are people that do not obey state orders for public health, social distancing and wear masks. Also, there are cities and law enforcement that will not enforce public health state orders. (I can give you an example of a city that will not enforce the state public health order if you would like.)

How would we have a complete shutdown? Lock all hospital workers in their places of employment, have no police or fire dept people available and no grocery store or pharmacy open?

What would happen to labor patients who needed a C Section since they'd all be at home or would every pregnant patient due within three months have to report to the hospital and stay there until they deliver AND lockdown is over? Cuz no ambulance could pick them up, no bus or train would be able to get them to the hospital in a complete shutdown either.

What about patients that need chemo or dialysis? Stay locked up in their respective institutions along with staff?

What about the kids of all the staff that are locked up with patients? Babysitter locked up with them for months or they fend for themselves?

How would anyone get enough food since there is no food delivery with no one allowed to be out of their houses?

Who would pick up dead decaying bodies that happened to die in their homes of coronavirus or otherwise?

I'm sure there wouldn't be any mental problems, no domestic violence, etc with everyone locked in their houses.

And if you have ANY cases there is no complete shutdown and it will spread. Even if you COULD prevent spread, once someone from another country comes in with cooties, bam!

Okay you are taking it to the extreme. So for example some states were shut down and many were not. Also, some cities will not enforce the state public health law. Just look at the protestors in HB and the cops near by smiling and doing nothing (Enforce the law) vs. South Pointe Park closes after nearly 10K violations reported in Miami Beach parks over weekend (Park Rangers issued 7,329 verbal warnings for face cover violations, 478 warnings for social distancing violations and 1,335 people were instructed to leave parks after closing time)
https://wsvn.com/news/local/miami-d...s-reported-in-miami-beach-parks-over-weekend/

This is a moot point since the beaches are open already in Cali and Florida. But it shows the different types of law enforcement. People who enforces the law and people who do not.

Yup, people are gaming the system. It's not the extra $600 per week. Its the fact that they do not have to do anything for it.  Talked to a girl yesterday who was s former hair dresser. With EBT, unemployment, cash gigs and her Covid checks she is tolling around $4 grand a month.  She says her biggest problem is boredom.  She will milk this for as long as they will let her.
Easy cure for her and others who feel entitled. The job place is open, the free money flow stops. Get back to work or else.

You can't shut down the U.S. in the same way they did in China. The legislation here is different, the people's mentality is completely different.

It ain't China here.

It's not law enforcement, it's  typical scaring tactics.  I am positively sure the vast majority of those tickets will be summarily dismissed in the court.

It is interesting that in polls more Democrats feel we are reopening too early.

So all the protestors are Republicans? :)
It is a typical political standoff in the election year. The more damage to the economy made, the better changes are of flipping the Congress and the White House. Pelosi is all for printing a ton of money to further ruin the economy.
The goal justifies the means.

There are other countries that are considered democracy countries aka votes for their elected officials that defeated the covid.

I believe someone on TI said temperature checks will not happen in America and business and government buildings in America are doing that.

Sorry PPP is a handout which is worst than TARP by the way. (Government will probably not get a dime from PPP. Sorry the Trump administration is favoring another stimulus payment.
Why is this a double standard? Blame Pelosi but how about Mitch? He is focus on passing judges versus focusing on the pandemic. (Such a joke)

It seems Trump is focus on Mike Flynn versus the covid virus. Every other sentence is about Mike Flynn. Sorry the American people don?t really care. Lol

PPP supports businesses, giving them a chance to survive. Pelosi's plan is completely opposite. She wants to keep people away from work as long as possible to ensure the economy won't show the recovery signs before November.
Mitch is a smart fella. While Pelosi is wasting her time on trying to sew together the torn apart Dem platform, McConnell minds his business and pursuing his agenda.

I didn't say it for sure. However, many things are happening in America everyday. It's a free country. Some people keep their freedoms, others give those up. Everyone makes a personal choice.

So your one of those conspiracy theorist that believes covid is a hoax.

Conspiracy theorists are falsely claiming that the coronavirus pandemic is an elaborate hoax

Nope. Your crystal ball needs to be sent to a repair shop. Better yet, buy a new model :)

That has nothing to do with covid.
Your statements contradict itself also known as a paradox.

You do not address how PPP is a failure to taxpayers.
Why couldn?t they have structure it like TARP where the taxpayers make money?

Republicans cry about spending but PPP is a complete failure. No regulations over it. But how about mike Flynn? (nobody cares) lol
Someone tell Trump to focus on covid and not mike. Lol

Since you have no more questions about Pelosi's, I assume (look, it's an assumption, not statement) that you and I agreed that her goal is to destroy the U.S. economy in an attempt to flip the Congress and the White House. If my assumption is accurate, let's go ahead and discuss PPP vs TARP.

Again, I am neither on Trump cabinet nor a close friend of McConnell, so I will throw out my speculations (not statements, ok?).
PPP is aimed to support small businesses of various forms. It's not meant to support sneaky Ruth's Steaks or Planned Parenthood franchise. It would be difficult to run PPP efficiently for various forms of LLC, Inc, sole proprietors, etc. It will be a burden on the small businesses and the government altogether. While I am not a big supporter of this program either, I believe PPP is a better way under the circumstances.
