Yes... I braved opening day, although at 2:30 to avoid the lunch crowds:
Bruxie
14376 Culver Dr
Irvine, CA 92606
(949) 556-4894

So I've always wanted to try this place but never got out to Orange, HB or RSM. We've been going to Iron Press in Costa Mesa instead (http://www.talkirvine.com/index.php/topic,3614.0.html).
The service is different here than Iron Press, there is a line to order your food and pay and then they bring it to your table (using one of those magical electronic table devices). The menu is basically waffle sandwiches, waffle fries, waffle desserts, shakes and frozen custard (they do have salads).
While I was in line, the Bruxie menu guy told us what the favorites are:
Savory:
Fried Chicken and Waffle
Bruxie Burger
Turkey Club
Sweet:
Nutella and Banana
Season Creme Brulee
They do have a kids menu for $4.95 and that includes either:
Cheesy Waffle (grilled cheese)
PB&J
Smore's
(above w/ fries and drink)
or
Beligan Waffle with strawberries and whip cream or maple syrup
(above w/ drink)
So we ordered the Fried chicken, the kids Belgian with maple syrup and the Creme Brulee (and I remembered to take pictures although we were already halfway done eating):
Half eaten fried chicken.
Creme Brulee waiting to be eaten.
Kids meal half eaten.
If you notice from the last picture, they give you 100% Vermont maple syrup in its own bottle, but I think it's $1 per bottle if you want more.
The chicken waffle was good and I can see how qwerter prefers the Bruxie waffle over Iron Press. I prefer the chicken at Iron Press because they don't put the chili-maple sauce on it so the chicken stays crispy. It was soggier at Bruxie.
The creme brulee tasted like creme brulee because there was carmelized sugar in it... very good and highly recommended.
My kid liked the waffles and because they had powered sugar on them, were sweeter than the ones in the sandwich.
They charge 2.50 for "cane sugar" soda but the downer is it's $1 for refills... what happened to free?
There was adequate seating but we were there when it was less busy. It's actually like a half open patio so I wonder what it will be like when it's colder or hotter (maybe they have roll down dividers I couldn't see).
We almost went again tonight but will probably go on the weekend. I can see why people like it and overall, it's less expensive than Iron Press.
At least they open at 8am.
