Some random Android news on a Wednesday...
Continuing on the topic of Android on the cheap... just ran into this app, Smozzy...

Smozzy lets you use your T-Mobile unlimited messaging plan to browse the web. No data plan required!
It works just like your Android phone's built-in browser, but the content is requested and delivered entirely via the text messages..
So I didn't know you can activate a T-Mobile smartphone without a data plan, just a regular phone line with txt plan... I imagine if this thing takes off, the loophole would be closed pretty quickly...

I did see that HTC was considering buying WebOS, but I don't think that is going to happen... Chinese phone maker MiUi

They both don't have the critical mass of followers to shift to a proprietary OS; whereas people already think of HTC as mainly a Android then Microsoft phone...
