What Kind Of Home Are You Looking For?

NEW -> Contingent Buyer Assistance Program
This isn't mine, but it'll give you a feel for what I'm building:

<img src="http://www.carmemories.com/images/dbimages/259.jpg" alt="" />

I don't have a trailer yet because I don't have a place to park it (the trailer). When I get my car finished, I'm going to Bondurant for the three day class, then I'm gonna do HPDE's (driver education events) and OT events for a couple of years to get some seat time before I build a VARA legal racer. I could just buy one turn key and get after it, but it's not my style.

But I need a place to park it before I start. I've tried renting shop space (that's what I'm doing now) but it's hardly convienent. Hince my desire to buy a home with a bigger garage. My current 25x20 space isn't cutting it.

Trooper:

This <em>is</em> on topic, you know........

Home features I'm looking for

[x] RV Parking

[x] Big Garage

[ ] HOA

[X] OCSD

[ ] Sidewalks

[ ] Nosy Neighbors

[ ] Junk spread around the driveway and front lawn

[X] Junk spread around the garage and side yard behind a gate or door

So, back on topic for a bit....

After moving to Newport Beach, I'd rather wait longer and save a bit more money to buy a small condo in this area or someplace close to the beach. It's so beautiful here! We also feel a bit safer living here, too. Not to mention the eye candy! And I mean CARS, not plastic women or men who've learned to use "products". It's like Cars and Coffee everyday driving through here! The only sad thing about it is that half the people who I see driving these high performance cars probably don't appreciate their cars the way the should be. I love, love, love to hear my S54 engine sing and can spot a Ferrari exhaust a mile away.

Ok, back to cars...

We had an E92 M3 at the shop today and I have to say...as loyal as I am to BMW and my E46 M3, the E92 is a freaking beast! Just when I think I've squelched my car urges, I've been bitten by the bug once again. Although, I do have to say that the new Audi S5 is in very close running and I have a hard time deciding between the two as to which will be my next car.

Ps. Hooray for the new forum set up! :)

S_Man:

I had a 335 loaner car from Crevier for a week and had some fun with it. I like the power in the 335 and it has the little bit of torque that I wish my M3 had sometimes, but there is just a completely different feel between driving an M car and a non-M car.

To give an idea of my need for shop space, this is my current project. I have taken up a two car garage (at my residence) with nothing but parts for this one car. The car isn't even at my house!

<img src="http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w188/CraigMBA/sidewaysstrip.jpg" alt="" />

This is yesterday morning:

<img src="http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w188/CraigMBA/prepedandpaintready.jpg" alt="" />

And last night after we finished:

<img src="http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w188/CraigMBA/rebornunderside.jpg" alt="" />

I decided I was tired of working on it and getting a face full of 40 years of accumlated road grime in my face, so before I painted it I decided to fix that problem. On the rotissere it was much easier to clean and strip the car, but it wasn't any less messy. After I got done stripping undercoating for about an hour, somebody (who knew me) took one look at me and proclaimed I looked like I was homeless because I was so filthy. I'm going to guess between me and the two guys I had helping me I spent 200 hours just on the bottom of the car. That nobody will ever see. Heh.

So far, this was the most difficult part of the whole project. I think I did a good job of cataloging and bagging parts. I'll know for sure here pretty quick. If I didn't, reassembly will be the most difficult part of this project. I literally have had every part off this car you could remove. The only way to take it any further apart requires use of a torch/sawzall/cutoff wheel/plasma cutter.

On a side note, I don't think I'll be doing another project like this ever again.

Very nice.

Back OT.

wife would like a 1800-2000 sf home with 1 bed on first floor. With walking distance of parks/amenities. Newer construction, say 15 years old at most. Drive way, 4 beds. 3 car would be lovely. Irvine would be ideal, may consider south county.

Gosh, just how much are you planning to spend for this dream awgee?

My house has most of that, but it's in Brevard county!! More acreage, grout (dark, no prob) on

the tile floors, over sized 2 car garage, not 3, no lift of course; we've actually never parked

the cars in there, just used to store stuff. Big porches in front and back, not wrap around.

Even with an assumed drop in prices of 30%off peak, we couldn't afford to buy our own house, with say, only 30% down.

You could extend the garage fairly easily to add spaces for a couple more cars.

My house even has horizontal siding on the second floor. First floor concrete block &

stucco & brick facing.

Looking for SFR, 4 bed--one downstairs, at least 2.5 bath--3 would be ideal, ~2500 sqft, 2 car garage with a real driveway, and some semblance of a grassy back yard and some side yards would be great too--not into the low maintenance concrete jungle yards. Hopefully this type of home becomes more affordable over the next year. :-)

Some of my friends are looking for a 2bed/2.5bath townhome for 300-400K. Must be in a nice neighborhood and in good condition. Around 1200-1500 square feet. Must not be older than 20 years. These are for singles or couples.

Some others are looking for a 4bed/3bath single family from 500-600K. Must not be older than 20 years. Either that, or a newly built townhome. Around 1500-2000 square feet. These are for families.

Here it is, my dream home (<strong>unfortunately, I don't think I qualify</strong>):

That, my friends, is the worlds most expensive teardown IMO.
