[quote author="Polarbecca" date=1221836945]we are moving in to phase 12. we are closing end of November. i'm going to be driving you crazy with questions from now on!
like which plan are you in 1, 2, or 3? did you seal your own kitchen countertops and did you upgrade your flooring? have any problems with vintage design?
[quote author="Shooby" date=1221827833][quote author="Polarbecca" date=1221808258]So should we schedule a pest control service for the day we move in?
[quote author="Shooby" date=1221703948]Just post your 800 number for pest control in the columbus square forum, you'll get a lot of hits. I hope someone's dog doesn't get bit by one of these, not sure how their immune system could handle it</blockquote></blockquote>
Are you moving in Phase 11? You'll be right behind my house, I was in 10. I would honestly go to Home depot right now and buy a jug a termite killer and spray the outside of your house, the garage, front door, windows...even though its getting colder, columbus square definitely has a ton of bugs.
i was talking to a neighbor last night, who found mice in his garage. and about 5 black widows in his house, and crickets in his garage all night.
and my other neighbor had maggots in her garage, although i question the cleanliness of her garage in that instance.
These bugs are like mutant size! must be the toxic soil. lol.</blockquote></blockquote>
Haha, no problem. I got a plan 1, moved in last December. I went to Lowe's and bought a jug of granite sealer for like $50 bucks, and just sponged it on. Then with the recommendation of one of my friends, I also bought a can of spray to seal my grout in the floor tiling as well.
IMO, Vintage is a rip off. Yeah they have nice design, but $20,000 for flooring? I took that $20K and I applied it to the cost of my house.
Talk to Arlene, when I bought, Jeanne let me take it off. I'd rather pay less in mortgage interest than have nice flooring. So I took the standard carpet and tile, and I got quoted about $7,000 for hardwood floors and upgraded carpet for my place, and I will probably do that in 2-3 years. Take what I can get, esp in this economy. Vintage did an OK job, I still step on sharp nails in the carpeting and the edges were a bit hastily done. So I'd def take the $20K off and wait and find a better flooring company. They sure make a pretty penny off of us.
I'm glad more people are moving in. Hopefully the damn HOA's will go down now.
