You have good virtue and your husband is very lucky!

Honestly, I don't mind if it's from the drugstore. I'd be happy with a Hershey's Pot of Gold. I think Godiva chocolates are certainly pretty and they taste good, but overpriced. I wouldn't want my husband to waste money on it. Also, when given the choice, I always patronize See's over Godiva because I like the candy and they give you free samples every time you go to the store!

Thank you, but I think I'm actually just low-class and not sophisticated enough to appreciate the finer things.

Hopefully the chocolate is from Godiva and not from the local drugstore.

We were behind a parent that that was handing out Godiva boxes to all the teachers.
Our bags were from Michaels with chocolates purchased from Target.
I did feel a little uncomfortable

I was surprised at the "bags". We just had a great Christmas and a New year, I thought we would be fine with the cards only. Guess I was wrong :-)
People are bringing in the "bags" to the RTI teachers too..

Chinese parents are giving luxury gifts to teachers so their kids may get some special privilege or attention. I guess bribery is programmed into the chinese DNA.

Happy Valentines Day everyone!!

For you last minute shoppers... Costco has one dozen roses for $15.99... I was just at the Costco on Technology Drive in Irvine and they had tons of selections of wrapped roses, daisies, tulips, etc!

Don't show up at home empty handed  ;)

If you missed Costco try freeway off ramps. If you missed that too the common area in Woodbury has some white roses blooming and be smart to keep your prunings to a dozen increment. Don't bother to find a florist in Irvine. They are all banks.

So I have something delivered to Mrs. IHO's work... and one of our kids gets sick so she stays home today.

I could have saved on the next day shipping (yeah... I procrastinated) and had it sent there tomorrow... bleh.

Good thing I didn't do the berries.com like I was originally planning to.

I see one ugly man wandering in Costco choosing between leftover wilted roses or fresh tulips.

The arrangement that I ordered included a hefty local delivery fee with a promise to be delivered between 8 and noon.
Noon rolls around and still no delivery.
When I called to follow up, they gave me the line that the driver was delayed.
The things you do for love.

you guys know all this flowers and bulls#hit actually mean more if you give the to your wife on a day when they are not expecting it right?  that is why i got my wife nothing today.

Aww @ you TI-men sending flowers to the wives, and the TI-women not expecting much :-)
I ended up running around Costco buying Chocolates for the teachers because everyone else brought it in this morning. Just read somewhere that teachers get the most Valentines in America. Lucky them :-)

Happy Valentine's day everyone!

Financially, this is makes the most sense and who doesn't love to save money. I prefer my husband buys my presents the day after when everything is on clearance. Gifts are more enjoyable when you know they were a hot deal. But, really... who seriously needs a gift. Think about it. If we lived this long without it, chances are we don't really need it.

Or the converse... she'll be more irritated she got nothing on the day she was expecting something.

We have an unspoken rule not give each other presents*... but I break it every once in a while.

*We usually just buy for ourselves whatever we feel like with no complaints from the other side... you would think all the gadgets I get would cost way more than her stuff... but my "gift account limit" isn't even near hers.

Love letters, hugs, and kisses are all free. They have no hefty delivery charges. They are the best gifts. You can give as many as you want. They never go out of style.

Awww.. I should stay away from this thread. Before you know it, I will be expecting too much from Mr. Zirconia- hand written card, love letter.. and what not :-)
I don't expect anything on Valentine's day or any special day, but then I expect Mr. Zirconia to beat my expectations.
