Well irvine123, you are telling me that your AGI high enough not to warrant a rebate yet you feel entitled to get one. You'd probably spend it on something silly like a college fund or some other wise investment anyways. I feel sorry for your kids being deprived of that extra $300 - more yet, I feel sorry that they have to endure the pain that comes with being in an earning bracket where you would get snubbed by the government like this. I mean, come on, you need that money just as much as some kids whose parents are on disability pay. Actually, probably even more so since those are just leeches of society draining the treasury and riding on 60 years of deficient social programs. Is that what you want to hear??

We can always have different opinions, which I can completely respect.

I give you credit for your smart ass comments (as that is probably all you get), since you have no ability to argue your points.

Your comments are silly at a min, and I won't want to spend time to argue with you. I know enough about you to completely ignore you from this point on.

green. That was pretty crass. All I'm saying is, I work reeeeeally hard to make the money I make. Why am I subsidizing the rebate of those that make less than me? I go paycheck to paycheck because I'm making MAJOR extra payments towards my mortgage. A rebate check would be a very welcome thing believe it or not. No, I'm not starving....but come on.
All I'm saying is that the current administration want to blow this money away. Might as well buy us all $300 worth of scratch & win lottery tickets. The calculations ruling the rebate distribution are to not upset a large voting block (elderly) and to make sure that people are likely to spend it. If there was ANY logic behind these calculations it would go towards a more long term goal. However, it wouldn't be immediate which goes against the prevailing economists (not that they are right in the first place). You'll just have to come to term that not a penny is coming your way and there's nothing you can do about it. Then again, you can find some reassurance in the fact that you are economically stable and don't really "need" that money.
What?!! My thirteen children won't be getting a rebate? How about my dozen or so dogs and cats? They feel hardship too. F___in' govment. Are they heartless?

If you are not, are you saying the rebate should be calcuated based on how much tax dollar one has contributed to the system?? So the more you contribute the more you are suppose to get back??

Like many kids, my kids paid zero tax as they are less then five years old. But that doesn't prevent other kids who paid zero tax to get the $300 rebate. Not sure I understand your point.

In order to get a tax rebate, you have to have paid taxes. Children do not pay taxes, am I missing something here? Are you saying that you as the parent should get a $300 check for each child? Are others getting checks for having children?

lendingmaestro, if you read the bill you will find out that each kids get $300. It is my understanding that if a family has a AGI of $150,000, and four kids, their rebate = 600 *2 + 300* 4 = $2400.

If your AGI is $170,00 or over, and 100 kids, your rebate = ZERO.

Green, since when is enjoying some success a sin? Like Trooper, I work very hard for the money I make and I won't apologize for it either and like him I'll get a nice dinner, maybe, after the rebate is said and done.
Effen, as far as tax rebates for kids...you might want to think that through. The little buggers who are getting the rebates are going to be working as adults and paying for the SSI check you'll be getting. Investing a tax rebate into a kid is a very wise investment indeed.
