Facts don't matter in the internet age/Trump age...

Leave it to Perspective to steer the conversation back to Trump.  Everybody was so truthful prior to Trump's campaign announcement, especially lawyers.

I'm not excusing United Airlines, but this guy screams that he's Chinese and he's Vietnamese. He says he has to come back to see patients but he doesn't have a practice,  in fact he's only licensed to practice one day a week.  The clinic he says he worked at said he doesn't work there.  This guys a very good poker player liar. I'm just saying .

I have seen many personal injury cases, injuries are often exaggerated or lied by the plaintiffs. Our legal system is designed to favor the victims.

I think most people know he is a Trump basher and you can't take him seriously.

No, our tort system is clearly designed to favor the guy with the money.

The jury system may favor a sob story, that's why so many contracts include arbitrage clauses.

I am talking about PI cases, there are no arbitration agreements.

I agree. Better get a top lawyer to defend you.

LOL, arbitration not arbitrage.

Although I guess the settlement aspect of lawsuits is kind of arbitrage...

Hmm, in order of ease, I suppose it's sue United - deep pocket and easy target, sue the City they're the ones running the city aviation department that had the 'officers' there.  Sue the City PD, they opened their mouth, not sure if they had any one there.  Sue the private contractor company that supply the guy that dig the actual dragging out.

Who else can they sue?

Again it seems that you are indirectly attacking Dao. The fact is he was drag out by the police because of additional united airlines employees need to go on the plane.

United States Senators are calling for a federal investigation.

Based on what I've seen, Dao is very intelligent:

Step 1: He screamed loudly to bring attention to what they were doing.

Step 2: He didn't fight back, just laid there forcing them to drag him off like they did, and then once they dragged him far enough, he somehow "magically" escaped so that he can show those filming him his bloody face.

Step 3: Profit!!!

How am I "indirectly attacking" him?

He was very smart about this whole thing.

He had 2 choices, get off quietly and be largely inconvenienced (doubtful he had "patients to see the next day"), or see where this goes and make a scene that will get him future benefits.

I would have just got off the plane, but what he did was genius and you may see IHO screaming in a future video.

I highly doubt he orchestrated this intentionally:

"a lawyer for the passenger dragged off a United flight on Sunday listed his client?s injuries: a broken nose, a concussion, two knocked-out teeth and sinus problems that may require reconstructive surgery."
https://www.nytimes.com/2017/04/13/us/united-passenger-david-dao-chicago.html

The most interesting tidbit was the name of his daughter:  Crystal Dao Pepper.  If she's a physician too, that would make her Dr. Crystal Pepper.

My guess is the plaintiff will start out asking 20 mil, and it will eventually settle for 5 mil. Demetrio law firm gets at least 1/3 of the settlement.

This is how lawyers get yachts and mansions. You are free to sue anyone for almost anything in this country.

You think the lawyers would not introduce her as Dr. Pepper/Dao if she is a physician? 99% sure she is not a physician.

Wrongful death lawsuit for the scorpion!!

The funny part of the article to me is when the captain announcement that someone got stung by a scorpion. Did that scare the other passengers?

I'm not sure if you watched the movie Snakes on a Plane. How about the sequel, Scorpions on a Plane?  ;)

But the Veterans get to be buried in Irvine while the civilians could not. That evens out.

Isn't it funny how humanity works? We send our soldiers to the battlefield and they lose a limb, get blown up from IED, shot up, stabbed, and assaulted by enemy combatants. When they come home, what do they get? A small pension and a ribbon.

U.S. civilians on the other hand, when they get "roughed up" a little bit, society awards them MILLIONS!.
