NEW -> Contingent Buyer Assistance Program

Not bad, like the chubby kid, love the music, got some laughs, look forward to next week.  Lunchables and wood paneled Town and Country, haha

I finally got a chance to sit down last night and watch the premiere of "Fresh Off The Boat". Will probably watch the second episode tonight.

I thought it was pretty cute. Not really laugh-out-loud "haha" type of funny but just alright. I did like the last scene where the dad convinces the reluctant white people to do the overly-stereotypical TV commercial that they indicated they are uncomfortable with. That was probably the funniest for me because I've had a very, very similar thing happen in my own life. I would say the scene which kind of caught me off guard is the one where the black kid (the only other minority at the school?) tells the main character that finally he has "someone below him" or something like that. I forget the exact words. I thought that was a pretty shocking thing to say. I replayed that to make sure I heard it right. Yup.

I can't remember. Is this show supposed to be based off of someone's childhood or something like that? I thought I had read that earlier, maybe even in this thread. It seems this type of show is popular now because there is another similar program I watch which also just debuted. It is called "Hindsight". It, too, rewinds to the same year, 1995, except that one does a much better job of capturing the era. It seems like whatever time period was 20 years ago becomes en vogue again a'la "The Wonder Years".

i saw the first two episodes. so far so good.

Do you find the mother hard to understand? It takes me an extra 15-20 minutes to watch an episode because I can't understand a single word she says. I have to keep backing it up over & over again which is so frustrating and time-consuming. I think she lays it on too thick for American television. Her accent is fake. She COULD adjust it if desired. I blame production there. Randall Park puts on a fake accent, too, but it's a lot more subtle. I can understand him most of the time.

If you lived in Irvine longer... you would have no problem. :)

Interestingly enough, if anyone's accent would be faithful to the source material, it would be Constance Wu because she's Chinese while Park is Korean.

Does anyone here use Instagram? I must be getting old because I don't really get what it is or how you start "dating" someone on it. I thought it was just some kind of photo-sharing site sort of like Pinterest, no?? I didn't think there was any social aspect to it beyond that. Weird. *Shrug*

All the young folk use Instagram and snapchat nowadays. The old peeps (basically if you have kids) use Facebook. This is the general thing, you'll obviously have exceptions. A lot of the old peeps use Instagram mainly as a photo filtering app to then post onto Facebook. Facebook I think has a friend limit. You can have endless followers on instagram.

Ah, okay, thanks for the tutorial! Now that you mention it, I did ask my son if he intends to get on FB once he is old enough in a couple years and he was like, "No way. Everyone in my class uses Instagram." And I'm like "...Insta-what? You kids don't need no Instergramming."

Yup, a true old foggie moment. Good to know people actually can interact on there and DATE. I will definitely have to #monitor him if he gets an account.

Yea FB has been deemed "uncool" since moms and grandmas are now on it. Even those in their 20s are shying away from it. They'll keep a profile but won't use it actively. It's all about IG these days. It can be just as social as Facebook really. Kids are obsessed about getting followers.  It also caters very well to selfies and emo pics. Versus on fb, it's more wordy (and thus, old).

SoCal might like this.

The Amazing Race is doing something new this season... it has 11 teams, 5 couples who are dating and 6 couples who just met on the show as blind dates.

Just started watching the first episode and it's captivating... talk about an extreme blind date... having to travel all over the world, race and compete in challenges with someone you just met.

O.k., I added it to my DVR. You must have a backlog on yours because from what I can tell, they are already on Episode 4. I set it to record New and Reruns. I hope I can catch 1-3.

I've actually never seen Amazing Race. But yeah, I guess I do like extreme dating shows. The one I currently watch is about the most "extreme dating" you can get. They meet at the altar!

You can watch the last three episodes on CBS.com for free. They currently have episodes 1-3 available.

Yeah... reality shows usually don't have repeats.

Just finished last week's episode, looks like some of the blind date couples are breaking down... some definitely will not be dating but 1 or 2 might be a match. I wonder if the couples that aren't feeling a match are looking at other couples for a possible connection.
