I think I have a man-crush on Blake Shelton.

Blake Shelton. Ryan Gosling. Bradley Cooper. Chris Evans. Tom Welling. The list goes on... (but who's counting? Just your stalker.)

It seems you go for a certain type, Iho.

What are we, chopped liver?  ::)

Who is watching "Mad Men"?

Can't believe Don is back to his old ways. I thought he was so much happier with Meghan. The sleeping around is getting really old.

For The Voice, I pick Judith Hall on Team Adam to do well... and the other guy (I forgot his name) with the beard and was wearing a hat (he sang Gravity).

I don't like how it's not really amateurs on The Voice (they have sang backup, had records, are in a band etc) but I guess that's how they want their singers to be.

Anyone watch The Americans?

Deadliest Catch anybody?

I must be the only one excited about the crab show.

Ooooh - Ooooh! Guess what, Dog was picked up by CMT! It's been renamed "The Hunt". I'm so glad they are back. I don't care if they are a little bit white trash, they are my kind of people.  :) It starts again soon. Too lazy to look it up. Next month, I believe.

I'm a Gold Rush junkie.  Used to watch Deadliest Catch but got burned out.  Really getting jaded with all the reality shows where anger, aggression and threats of violence are not only di rigueur, but the preferred solution to everything.  Prefer Gold Rush for the less anger and aggression and more slow motion car wreck.

Also like Shark Tank.  And when it comes back find "Who do you think you are" interesting, in spite of the chronic .com commercials.

Idol spoilers...

Yep... all-girl top 5. I hope AI producers are happy that their shenanigans has produced low ratings for AI. Not only is it not the top show it used to be, but it's not even the top singing show (The Voice has been beating it in ratings).

It's got to be Kree or Candice... those two can sing ANYTHING.

Ah. You must have caught Mrs. NSR watching Mob Wives. :) When I hit Play on those, Mr. SoCal says he has to leave the room. (Not just 'cause of the screaming. Big Ange grosses him out so bad.) What's funny is sometimes I'll warn him and say, "Ok, I'm going to watch my girly shows now" - when really, there is very little that is girly talking about "shatterin' your teeth wit my fist" or "I'll shove a buttah knife down your throat, B!tch. You don't wanna go tuh war wit me". Whenever they have a party, they never EVER make it to cake-cutting time before the cops come or there's blood, hair, fake nails, glitter, and broken glass everywhere.  :) Good times.

NSR - I thought of you when I watched the preview for the new season of D.C. Lenny is going to take a picking hook to the eye!! =8-@

I know the injury rate on this job is 100% but the poor guy seems so accident-prone. There was the finger incident. The elbow incident. And now this.

I still can't watch Nick's run-in with the picking hook from last season without cringing  :o: Face Smasher

I saw that preview... doh!

Thinking I might pick up Ice Cold Gold.  What could possibly go wrong looking for gold in Greenland right?

Even regular TV seems to be substituting glorifying violence for real story  Justified, Sons of Anarchy, etc.  We as a society really have an addiction.  I remember "Scarface" in the 80s and people being appalled, but that's run of the mill network violence these days.  Heck, down right tame now.

Anyone watch Vanilla Ice's show on DIY?  I couldn't believe it at first.. but interesting show.. who would've thought....from "ice ice baby" to "flip this baby"

I've been bored to tears with American Idol. I'm like 3 weeks behind. However, I just started catching up last night and saw the kiss between Amber & Burnell. Wow! I didn't think she was into him.

Speaking of which.

Who's watching "Friend Zone" on MTV? I've just set it to record the series after staying up until the wee hours watching 1 episode then 2 because I was unable to turn it off. The show works like this:

- You are introduced to 2 good friends
- The guy is getting ready for a "blind date". His lady friend is helping him get ready for his big date. Giving him advice on what to wear. What to say. What to do.
- He asks her to go with him to the restaurant / meeting spot for moral support until it's time for him to go inside.
- When they get there, just before she says good luck and walks away, he asks her to come back because he forgot something. He announces there is no blind date inside waiting for him! It's actually her that he wants. Does she feel the same?
:o Insert her reaction here!!

The premise of the show is a little elementary school'ish i.e. the paper note we've all passed reading: "Do you like me? Circle Y or N." It's kind of funny, I guess, being a little older and wiser now watching these "younger" people do this because you realize it's not nearly as complicated as they make it out to be especially when they already have a friendship developed. Kind of funny to see the guy sweating bullets, having a heart attack.

I phase in and out but I'm back to watching a lot of HGTV again. I guess it's because we can't find a house so I'm living vicariously through these shows:

Property Brothers - They find fixer uppers and remodel them to the buyers desire

Love it or List it - A designer remodels their current home while a realtor shows them homes to buy and then they have to decide whether they'll stay in the remodel or list it and buy a different home

House Hunters - Most know this show, 3 homes, buyers choose one

Flip or Flop - I have a thread for this:http://www.talkirvine.com/index.php/topic,3738.0.html

I usually watch them during NBA playoff games (timeouts, free throws, halftime, commercials)

I watched an episode of Car Chasers. No clue what channel it was on.. but interesting concept. (@ gym! I don't even turn on TV otherwise. Strictly Netflix and Amazon)
I was an HGTV addict at one time. Watched almost everything! Makes you want to do things to your house, doesn't it IHO?

I usually avoid reality TV shows (I get enough of that from the news), but the only show I follow is "Sons of Guns" on Discovery.  I like it when they get all technical about their various projects, so I get to learn something new about all kinds of weapons.  I can do without all the interpersonal drama, but I guess they need to appeal to a wider audience.

Never heard of that show. Yes, reality TV shows are a waste of time. I have never watched bachelor either.. I did watch Apprentice when it was new. Later it got too staged and predictable. There was shark tank that caught my interest for a while..

CNN drama- the best!

Watching "Hoarders" always makes me go clean the house. I don't know how people can tolerate living like that.

Is there any show that both of us watch/ have watched? :-)
Most of the times I look up Wiki to know what you guys are talking about..

Based on watching one episode - I couldn't continue to watch because it's so sad and depressing, this is what I can gather:
A lot of them have basically 'given up' on life and improving their living conditions.  Some are lonely/depressed and the accumulated stuff serves as comfort and company for them.  Others have the idea that throwing stuff out is not a good idea, because there will be a use for the stuff "later on".  Unfortunately, the "later on" never comes, meanwhile the stuff just keeps on accumulating.
