toxic land for Irvine's 5th high school debate

NEW -> Contingent Buyer Assistance Program
Make no mistake, the decision to put #5 on the site A was made with one (and the only one) purpose - to boost the prices for the new 5P houses in the remote area. Convenience of the majority of the students wasn't a factor at all.

I meant to say Site B.  Take a look at the chart.  In just 5 years HS #5 will have over 2,400 students.  TIC wants the better school at Site B or CVE so push the school for GP to Site A.

The crappy high school that hasn't been built yet.. and an even better high school that hasn't been planned yet?

Bull.... The voice of IUSD BOE was clear and sound. For the reasons we all could only guess, site A was more appealing for them even if the majority of the students would live further away from the school.  5P fiercely stood behind this decision. Instead of building#5 in the heart of the assigned neighborhoods, BOE pushed it out to the jail grounds to boost the sales. I am sure, #6 is not on the plans or anything.

They already know where HS #6 is going.  You don't plan a school site and $160 million in construction in just a few years.  It is extremely difficult to get land for a school, especially if something is already built on it.  Again look at the chart.  They have things planned out to 2022.

it's obvious there will be the need in #6. Some day. So far, none of them are planning anything (or at least openly admitting to planning). So, #6 is just a theory at the moment, while #5 at the toxic site is the reality

Site 5 is actually a good location once all the neighborhoods get built out.

Toxic landfill on one side and jail on the other. Far away from the existing communities assigned to it. It's surely the best place for another Irvine school. Can't pick a better site. Especially for 5P to make a sales pitch.  Make no mistake, it's 5P win

I'm glad you agree.

Considering a part of GP neighborhood homes is in the SVUSD, TIC doesn't actually have to do anything to make it the most undesirable area to buy

That's not going to stop them from trying.  TIC just gave $600,000 to Tustin USD to help bolster sales in OH.

The new lines have all of GP in Irvine school district.

Pretty good chuck of GP will be in SVUSD. I am wondering how much the price drop will be in that neighborhood. Anyway, the jail school isn't much better

Most of the golf course is north of Trabuco, so no not the golf course.  More than 50% of the new 4,606 homes will be south of Trabuco, so in SVUSD.
