Do you wear your shoes in the house?

Absolutely not. I was raised to always remove shoes at the door and now my family does the same. People think just Asians and middle-easterns do this but no, some of us whities do too. Many of my guests see our shoes at the door and remove theirs although I don't require them too. It's a sign of respect for the home and also to keep the filthy shoes off the carpet / floors.

Do you wear in-door slippers?

Socks or barefoot. I am thinking of getting in-door slippers for my guests to put on at the door to accommodate them.

Do you knock or ring the door bell?

I knock gently and if nobody hears it then I knock louder. If they still don't answer, I use the doorbell. If you visit somebody who has a baby, remember not to use the doorbell first. You could be waking the baby.

Do you like the sound of your door bell?

Yes. I like the ones that play music too and have had those installed those in previous homes.

How many pot and pans do you have?

A lot. I cook all the time. My favorite is my cast iron collection.

Do you have a security system?

A low-grade one, yes. It alerts you to doors and windows being opened but does not actually call a central service center for help if there's an intruder.

What is hanging on your living room wall?

A mirror.

What color paints do most of you like?

Calm, soothing colors. Nothing too dark and heavy.

What color brands of paint do you like?

Anything with low-voc.

What kind of blinds do you like?

Horizontal, preferably wood.

What is the minimum amount of square feet does you family need?

To be happy, at least 1,600. To survive, much less.

Do you prefer sectional or separate couches/sofas/love seats?

It depends on the room lay-out. Sectional if it looks appropriate, though.

What kind of a living room lamp do you have?

A beautiful one that retails for $800. I found it next to the trash at my IAC complex. It had a small broken part that my husband replaced for less than a dollar and it's perfect now. It is really nice. I love dumpster-shopping!

Yes! The more the better.

Do you like it dark and shady?

Only when I'm sleeping.

Hard downstairs. Carpet upstairs.

What kind of carpet?

Just a simple cut and loop. People think Berber is a great carpet and it's not. The loops retain dirt. I learned from my carpet guy that a simple pile is easiest to clean and he's right.

What kind of hardwood floors?

Any kind except blond wood.

Does the times on your microwave and oven match?

Yes. My engineer husband wouldn't have it any other way. It's one of the first quirks I noticed about him. He is particularly anal about that.

Yes. The toaster oven is the best invention ever.

Do you like outdoor carpeting?

No.

No.

Yeah my eyes hurt! Just so you know, for those renting from IAC; you can cancel your Renter's Insurance; it's a jip! Just say you found another carrier. Picking bar stools is tricky, be sure to measure the height from the floor to the seat. I'm taller, so I have to slouch on most stools. Just so you know, and BK can confirm this; about 99% of all Chinese don?t use the dish washer; well maybe more now for the Gen-Xers; some exterior designs like Cortile in Woodbury have bars on their windows! And? we disable our security system?s door chime, it?s too loud?
