[quote author="acpme" date=1214045587]ipop, did everything from RA seem like it had cream cheese in it???

panda, there's two korean places on walnut and jeffrey. another in northwood plaza on irvine blvd. there's a korean market there as well. another korean restaurant at university ctr on jeffrey/university and michelson. two more at culver and the 5. i'm sure i'm missing a few too. so much korean around here right now you should have no problems.</blockquote>

Thanks ACPME, Definitely going to check out all these yummy places next time i visit Irvine.

[quote author="PANDA" date=1214040817]Nice.... I have to check out these cool sushi places.

So is there any decent Korean restaurants in Irvine? The only place i know (and eat) when I visit Irvine is this Irvine Tofu restaurant between walnut ave and jeffrey. There are so many koreans living in Irvine, but why are the Korean Restaurants so ghetto. Whatz up with that?

Panda LOVES korean food, but can't find a decent place to eat in Irvine. HELP!!!!</blockquote>

Take Culver exit from I-5 and check the shopping plaza nearby. There's 3 or 4 Korean restaurants there that you could try.

Check Koba Tofu Grill at 14370 Culver #J. I like their beef bulgolgi.

didnt that used to be bcd tofu house? did it bomb and change ownership already? for korean food i like the place on jeffrey and walnut at the arbor ctr. its sort in the corner by wienerschneitzel.

This might be far, but I thought I'd mention it anyway because it's the best sushi I've ever had in OC. 930 Sushi, 930 Pacific Coast Hwy in Newport Beach. Try the 930 Special...oooh! Also, the Yellowtail collar. I've had more pricey (like the overpriced jokeness of Sushi Roku in Santa Monica) but this is the tastiest.

Menu aside, when you are treated VERY differently and get weird stares... it kinda turns you off to a place.

I would like to try though.

good luck

A couple of the Ra items did but many did not...

bix,

koreans are very prideful and tend to reserve their best for other koreans. other asians, especially japanese, will get the same weird stares and gruff service. you just have to bear with it and once they see you're braving and enjoying the exotic cuisine they warm up a bit. a bit...

good luck

The one time we went into the Korean restauran near Zion market, the staff was very nice to us - maybe even a little amused that we were there. The stares didn't bother me so much, as I figured it was similar to what the Koreans (and many non-whites) faced in many restaurants through the 1950's (and likely beyond) in SoCal. Sometimes it's good to put the shoe on the other foot.

That restaurant is a little over-priced and their banchan (side dishes) selection was skimpy.

Fantastic!

When the Panda finally gets to Irvine we can all head to Karnak in K-Town.

You guys can brag to all your Korean friends that you know Matt McConaughey (Me).

The Panda springs for the $250 fruit platter and 1st bottle of Crown Royal.

We?ll alternate after that.

As Ten says Sutra delivers when it comes to beautiful women, Irvine delivers when it comes to good Japanese and Korean Food. Irvine seems like Panda's kinda place.

Ten, how do you know about Karnak in K-town? You are not one of those white boys who have a fettish for Korean women are you? Korean women, by far are the most beautiful creatures out of all asian race. (Compared to Chinese, Japanese, Taiwanese, Irvinese*, etc.) made by God. I am sure that everyone on this forum would agree.

*Irvinese : definition: Asians who live in Irvine.

Ten, this thread is about "Good Sushi" not about "Good Women" This thread started out talking about Japanese Sushi, and Ten turns this thread around to talking about Asian woman... Geezzz Ten... Bro "What's wrong with you?"

Happy Panda

I AM A BIG FAT PANDA! DREAMING OF IRVINE.

"As Ten is obessed with beautiful blonde women, Panda is obessed with beautiful Irvine homes." Ten and I, we have a lot in common. :)

Nick Cage met his wife Alice while she was waitressing at a sushi place.

Coincidence?

I met Hiromi last month at RA.

<img src="http://bp3.blogger.com/_HN3tigaU1Bk/Rxf4g5SH_NI/AAAAAAAABUg/a5lP46SGHLg/s400/hiromi_oshima2.jpg" alt="" />

She gave our table exceptional service

Sparks were definitely flying between us.

Keep your fingers crossed, we?ll see what happens.

You guys can met her when we do the ?IHB Dining Club? meeting at RA.
