It?s going to be a long day.
It all starts with finding a parking spot.
Get some rest before and stay hydrated

Going on a school bus with my kid's class... only a couple hours 10-12....  what's the lighting like inside?  need a flash?

You?re getting off easy, thought it would be longer.
Lighting is good, don?t think you?ll need flash.
First time there?
Buckle up!

My 18-month old daughter will be attending Irvine Montessori (located on Cartwright near the airport) in April.  I just saw this discussion board and was wondering if anyone has had experience with this school?  We chose it because they take toddlers under 2, is close to my work, doesn't have a wait list and costs less (compared to Tutor Time, which is our other option for her age group).  The facility looks just ok to me.

Everyone's experience is different, try it for a couple months, listen and look at your kids spoken and body language...  Act conservatively and maintain contact with other schools so your options are always there.  Talk to the actual teacher that will be with your child instead of the director.  When an issue comes up, see how the school act, defensively or with compassion, that should tell you alot.  See if the school is open for you to spend time with your child there before officially starting, that will show how "open" they are.

All excellent advice. Thanks for posting.

Made a simple ham&cheese heart shaped sandwich, no crust of course for my little one at school.  She actually ate most of it.  Threw in a bag of presliced apples and she ate those as well.  Hope this continues.

Does anyone have recommendations for infant care near woodbury?  We wold prefer drop off/pick-up and have checked the list on the Irvine city website, but most places have wait lists already! Thanks in advance.

Are you looking at a school that takes infants?  Or a private home setting?  The chains usually have openings, i.e. Kindercare/Tutortime.. Did you check out St. Andrew's?  Seems like a good school on our previous visit... believe they take infants?  Mariner's is another option.  Put your name on the wait list and call once a month, you never know..

In the end, as long as it is within the city of Irvine (or just on the outskirts is fine too) and most important if my kid likes the place, distance to our house is not that much of a factor, so don't limit yourself to just the surrounding area of Woodbury (which does not have much).
