Solar Panel - Which company to go with?

NEW -> Contingent Buyer Assistance Program
I love the idea of going off the energy grid. I would definitely be interested in solar panels that store the electricity in batteries for daily use. It is too bad the technology is not quite there.

I'd definitely recommend Nest Thermostats for saving on your AC and heating bills. I put them in and love them. You can control them thru your iPhone and they have a learning system in them. They learn your patterns and will automatically adjust the temperature around your schedule. The best part about them is the fact that they have an auto away function. This means that if they don't detect motion they will adjust the thermostat accordingly to your specs when you're not home.

I think your the last person to bring up character on TI. I'll just leave it at that.

Who knew... all the fun is in the solar panel thread which I never visit. Just happened to because we've been getting hounded by solar guys at our house more and more lately. Anyway, you know, this is about the third or fourth time or so that I've read a similar comment from you or others. Not trying to be argumentative but just curious why you say that? I don't think Iho is bad to the bone as some people make it out. He's a good fella, imho. I'm starting to wonder if there's something you all know that I don't. lol. Or are you just saying that to go along with others. The latter is my suspicion. I'm assuming the comments are based on what's publicly view-able here on the forum. If it's private, please don't tell me.

I went with Solar City and the cost reduction has been amazing(we're in Ladera and SDGE bled us dry for years). Seems like the rest of our neighborhood went with Baker Solar though.

Did you lease or buy? How much is the savings?
