-This debate should be interesting town Hall style.

Hopefully McCain won't have a Myocardial Infarction or a Cerebral Hemorrhage on stage. Last debate I could see smoke coming out of his ears.

He couldn't/wouldn't even look Obama in the eye. What an a-hole. McCain is desperate old pol who will do anything to get elected. He is running a sleezy campaign, even worse than the swift boaters.

What's with this 3 million dollar projector McCain keeps talking about ? I mean, if it was for a planetarium so kids could learn about space during field trips....what's so bad about that?

3 Million.....seems pretty weak. Couldn't he find some pork.....say in the 300 million range to gripe about ?

So, here is McCain's kind of 3 million dollar project.....studying grizzly bear DNA.

[quote author="wendyinoc" date=1223455360]Did he just say (McCain) social security is not hard to fix?? LMAO

Social Security isn't difficult to fix. We have actuaries that can show you all the mathematics you need to know. What is difficult about the problem is the politics, not the mathematics.

Can you show me where in the Constitution it specifies that the Federal government should be involved in subsidizing planetariums?

Sub-Par performance from McCain, it did nothing to even remotely convince me that he would serve as a good president.

That's funny, my friend, I thought he was really clear.

You see, my friend, the problem is housing.

My friend, we have to stabilize housing prices so we can be people back to work.

What he'll do when he's President, my friend, is slap the Treasury Secretary upside the head and make him buy all those bad loans up. The treasury will suck them up, like a milkshake, my friend. Yes, the treasury will drink your bad loans right up. All those bad loans, my friend, aren't bad loans. He'll make the Treasury secretary, work out those loans at current values so, my friend, the people can stay in their homes. That, my friend, is how we get our milkshake and drink it too.

I used to respect McCain on the housing issue. Not anymore...

McCain calls for federal bailout of homeowners

"In a bold effort to reverse his sagging fortunes after a month of dire economic news, Republican Sen. John McCain said Tuesday night that if he is elected president, he will order the Treasury to buy up Americans? bad mortgages and renegotiate new loans that reflect their homes? diminished value.

The economic crisis has ?become so severe that we?re going to have to do something about home values,? McCain said at the second presidential debate at Belmont University at Nashville, Tenn. ?Is it expensive? Yes,? he said. "

And Meg Whitman for Treasury Secretary ? Hmmmm. I'm a fan, but I do know the eBay business model strips mucho dinero of sales tax dollars out of the economy.

Interesting choice.

That was the first question and my vote was over at that point.

HaHa- IR I knew you would be all over that comment like (white on rice).

WTF is he thinking??

Maybe he can call my boss up and triple my salary so I can afford the 750K house down the street.

Did anyone else notice when McCain took the second question....from the younger African American male.....and McCain looked right at him and said, "You probably never heard of Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac before this."

I saw the guy look to his neighbor and laugh....but it made me uncomfortable. It felt condescending on McCain's part....as if this guy wasn't savvy enough to know what they were.

I mean, how would McCain know, just by looking at somebody, that they don't know what Fannie and Freddie are/were. What ? Are we average citizens to dumb to know about them?

And to have said that to a black male. That could have backfired big time.

That was mentioned on CNN. His entire debate seemed condescending to either Obama ("That one") or to the crowd. I mean, when you have what, 11 houses? you're going to think you're better than the rest of the nation.

[quote author="Shooby" date=1223462461]"That one" says "My Friend" a little too much.

My husband kept a running count. He was at 15 at the end.

I don't think he really means it or even really has thought about the implications. Hillary has been pushing this for a while; I think he just on the spur of the moment decided to grab one of her positions for political purposes. His campaign is caught as flatfooted as anybody; they can't answer basic questions on details; I don't think he he even talked to them before he blurted this out. It's just another off-the-cuff erratic decision like picking Palin or "suspending" the campaign. It's not even a good political move; as somebody generally supportive of "buy-and-modify" I don't think he really means it and even if he does I don't think he would do it right.
