Thanks. Do you mind posting pics of the seamless inner frame and the painted joints?

The inner frame are one piece and outer frame are for piece bond together.  I hope you can see that there's a seam at outer panel but from a distant, you can't see it at all.  The install guy seal the seam with caulk than spray paint over the seam with the same paint from the factory.

what is the seamless frame option?

They caulk the seams in the frame and painted over to mask the seams.

If you have an inside mount shutters, this option probably is not an good idea.  With the new home settling, the window frame might change the shape slightly.  When settling happen, the seams might open up slightly and will became visible in the future.

What was the grand total for how many windows?

Each window is a different size. You may want to get the price per square foot.

That's so true, its hard to compare due to different number and size of windows.

I had about 13 windows and 1 pair of french door, cost a little over $7000.  About $22/sq.ft.

Some one here got $18.5/sq.ft. with Golden West Shutter in the earlier post and some got even better price with Express Blinds and other vendors.    Some members here must be a really good haggler.  :)

Blushing..

I got $14.50 a sq/ft for clearview. For non-clear view I could have gotten 11.95. : )

I'm at Mulberry and Magnolia model home today and notice the shutter at these model homes are from Golden West Shutters.

The shape and placement of  hidden tilt bar, location of tension screw holes, and male/female panel door catch are identical to my shutters from Golden West.  If you are interested in what the final product of Golden West Shutters looks like, just check out the one in these model homes.

What's people's take on Hunter Douglas window treatments? They own the monopoly in window dressings and are expensive? Are there better options out there for less?

I had Hunter Douglas shutters in my previously home and after 10 years, they hold up pretty well.  But they are really expensive.  I don't know how much they are now but 10 years ago, I paid about  $35/sq.ft..  They don't sale or install their shutter directly, their authorized dealer does and the price and quality of the dealer service varies. The Express Blind's shutter look very close to the Hunter Douglas's for about $16/sq.ft.

You can get Hunter Douglas through Costco and you might want to check it out see if the price is good.

Just had Window Decorators come in.  Very nice couple.. didn't seem shaddy which is a plus factor in my book.  lol.  However, I'm not sure if quality is good or not.. since these are the first I've seen.

Didn't get square footage but 14 polycore shutters and 9 custom roller shades quoted for $4380  or 21 shutters for 4900.  Seems like a great price but I will get other quotes.

We can shortcut these threads pretty quickly.

Did ZeroLot vet any shutter companies? Who wants to put money into a pool so that she can?

Will that money goes to ZeroLot research fund?  If that's the case, I'm in.  I like ZeroLot's vetting report and still waiting for the one about vetting MR.Z.

Got a quote from Shutter King today.  They only do real wood.  Anyways.. he informed me that they will be moving office locations and changing company names.  lol.  Doesn't sound very trustworthy.

Not sure if you're aware, but real wood is preferred over the poly stuff for people that live in Irvine. You only need poly if near the beach, humid climate zones like the south, or in a super small bathroom where there's no ventilation. Additionally, a lot of people don't realize that real wood is much lighter than poly. Poly is highly prone to sagging because they're a lot heavier.
