This ?win? will more than likely delay cemetery construction. It will be interesting to see how the city council reponds. I predict major delays and lawsuits ahead.

Indeed it will be interesting!  Surely the "we love veterans, vote Yes, start the cemetery ASAP" advocates will take action to encourage the cemetery construction begin even if it's at the ARDA location /s

Now that Measure C passed, the developers only need to buy 2 council members instead of 3 to stop the cemetery.  At least 5P had a minor victory to console their Measure B and D defeat.

*Grabs popcorn*

If I read somewhere correctly on OC Register, all Irvine has to do is build it. They don't even have to pay to maintain it. The state will maintain it and pay that bill.

The city can just cook the books and make some money. If it costs $20 to replant this bush, bill the state for $60 instead.  ;)  A gallon of Round-up is $23? Well, bill the state for $70 a gallon.  ;D

The City and Developers are experts at institutionalizing and collecting MR for expense purposes.

Just a few more years until some of those MR bonds are paid off!

Another 45 or so on the IUSD CFD 09-1 https://iusd.org/sites/default/files/documents/board_presentation_cfd_09-1_finance_plan_4-18-17_0.pdf

2 more on the IUSD CFD 86-01 (Page A-247... Only 2 years?  I must be missing something...) http://www.treasurer.ca.gov/cdiac/reports/M-Roos/2016.pdf

Can't find anything on the "1915 AD Bond Fee PE".  Anyone else have info on that?

Which brave soul wants to look up & provide links for the GP MR bonds?

But for Beacon Park, the MR still needs to be paid in perpetuity even after it expires to fund the maintenance of GP..

The bonds must be paid back by 2049 through special taxes collected annually on property tax bills, according to a city staff report. Residents will continue to pay the taxes even after the bonds are paid off to help fund the operations and maintenance of the Great Park, city spokesman Craig Reem said.

And yes, we talked about this. IUSD 86-01 is expiring in 2020! WB and SG homeowners rejoice!

Ah yah, that's the catch with the GP MR.  Wifey and I thought long and hard about buying in GP.  We liked many things about the neighborhood, but the terms of their MR was one of the reasons we passed.

IUSD 86-01 is on OH Village 2 as well.

Like Belly mention before. A person can simply drive to GP and enjoy the amenities. It?s not gated.

What up!

We have our son pee in the GP pools weekly.  Thanks to the multiple of FCBs that open the gate for us!

In 2012 Irvine had 223,870 people with 104,257 registered voters. Currently Irvine's population is 266,122 so maybe there are 123,939 registered voters. But only 24,676 voters cast their ballots on Measure B. That's about 20% so most in Irvine were not interested. Thought I saw that including mail in ballots, OC had a near 25% participation rate.

I worked at a polling place close to the action and spent some of my free time speculating which voters were members of TI. That person looks like so and so - business was so slow in the afternoon. I would really like to see the voting breakdown per polling station to see how my fellow Irvinites feel. Could be those in the GP were 100% for B while those in another area were 100% against B. Of course that is conjecture on my part but hey, that's the TI way! Need to figure out if I could get this info. Wonder where the largest areas of Measure B support and apathy were concentrated.

Last night was a historic win! The true veterans of Irvine have spoken and democracy has prevailed.

Thank you to all the TI members and voters who truly believe where our bravest and honorable heroes deserve to be laid to rest.

MAGA!

I am not sure how those three sentences are connected in any way but sure.

I assume you live in Eastwood, the central location with nice amenities as well. Why torture your kids. I hear that GP HOA is implemmenting a pool patrol and residence sign in process. Either buy a home at GP or befriend with one of the GP residence to vouch for you. Or they will politely escort you out. After all we know Eastwood is better, right?

At THE POOLS:
Mom:  kids we have to leave!
Kid: why???!!!! We just got here!!!!
Mom: Bc we don?t live here. Hurry up and pack up your stuff.
Kid: why not?
Mom: (whispering) Bc we can?t afford the mello Roos.
Kid: are we poor?!!
Kid 2: no, dad says we have to maximize ROI!

In all seriousness though, I never understood pool crashing. The perks of these neighborhoods is so you can walk to your pool. Who wants to get into a car with soggy kids?

Wrong. Then why do people go surfing and playing at the beach? They still gotta get in the car with sand and drive home.

Maybe I?m wrong but not going to the beach 3-4x a week. But pool, yes.

You know when free loaders justify for anything and everything, that's when they are too cheap. I know talk is cheap but man, to lug your whole family to use a free amenities, that when I know they have to squeeze every ounce of that penny to get by to pay for a high price attached Delano and to pretend to live large at THE GP pools.

Don't be embarrassed when you get yank out and kick out of OUR POOL. Just pretend you one of the FCB, no speak english......
