With regard to Blaze/Pieology/MOD style -- I still don't get this concept at all. I walked into Pie Project at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas a few weeks ago and tried to order a slice of pizza, not realizing it's a "let's re-invent the wheel" type of place. They don't sell pizza by the slice. Makes no sense to me. I didn't want a giant, foot-wide pizza, did an about-face and walked out. Pie Project is owned by the creator of the other two, Pieology and MOD. Simple, normal things in life, like getting a slice of pizza, shouldn't be aggravating for a customer. After all, if they can make a whole pie in 0.2 nanoseconds, then offering something smaller shouldn't be an issue. The whole thing seems like a fad to me.
 
Speaking of pizza... the "original" Z-Pizza off of Alton and Jeffrey has closed.

At first, the sign said they were remodeling but now there is a For Lease sign on the glass.

It's too bad, I like their pizza, I wonder if their location in Laguna Beach is still open.

It's a pretty big pizza with whatever topping you like for like $7.50.  It's not supposed to replace the "slice of pizza" concept, it's suppose to be a place you can go get a decent pizza for lunch without paying too much.  It's basically like Chipotle for pizza...you can still go somewhere to get yourself a burrito/taco.
 
Pedego Irvine is open and fun is being had.  We are the ONLY retail space to open in the Woodbridge Village Center in the last year.  Of the many charters we have, one near the top is to save/revitalize the center.  Come help us make that possible; the last thing we need is more apartments. 
 
TIC finally found a tenant for the old Claim Jumpers restaurant space... LePort Montessori.

I wonder if that means they will close the one in Woodbridge.

Also, El Cholo will be closing in a month or so, they are trying to move to CDM.

Really?  So sad, it's close to my office and I love going there because it's usually quite empty. 

Hopefully the leasing company can cut them a deal to stay, they have some empty buildings in those centers already.
 
Not a bad location, plenty of street views from Culver, we already got all three banks in the center, maybe another greasy spoon?  I could use a good taco place.
 
Too bad about Elephant Bar. I've been wanting to eat there for over 6 years. Seriously, I've been meaning to stop by that location for that long. There was just never a good time! I'd still like to go to any other Elephant Bar one day. Their menu looks really good. I wonder if it's as amazing as it looks.
