What kind of mahjong do you play? I find the game differs depending on race etc.

I assume most people here play it like the match a tile game. :)

I miss Red Mango, yogurtland is ok, I just get the plain tart and skip the sneezed on/fingered topping station.  If you ever watch a little kid scoop toppings you would never want to eat there again.

Tutti frutti in Woodbury is ok. They have some toppings in those pourable canisters. Less germy.

I don't think that Tutti Frutti would last long .. It almost always empty even on a warm/sunny  weekend ..

It looks like it's owned by a Chinese couple. So it could be a front for something. Total speculation of course :)

I like that Tutti Frutti and the owners seem nice.  They man the store themselves which gets my respect.

The photo that was posted is definitely not Bones.  The girl in the photo would definitely wear Lululemon!  :)

Speaking of Amy Chua - looks like she has a new book coauthored with her husband about why certain ethnic/cultural groups do better than others.  I still need to read her first book.

Haven't read the book but it seems like a high hurdle to prove

In ?The Triple Package,? Chua and her husband, co-author Jed Rubenfeld, gather some specious stats and anecdotal evidence to argue that some groups are just superior to others and everyone else is contributing to the downfall of America.
Unsurprisingly, the Chinese Chua and the Jewish Rubenfeld belong to two of the eight groups they deem exceptional. In no seeming order of importance, they are:
Jewish
Indian
Chinese
Iranian
Lebanese-Americans
Nigerians
Cuban exiles
Mormons

These groups ? ?cultural,? mind you, never ?ethnic? or ?racial? or ?religious? ? all possess, in the authors? estimation, three qualities that they?ve identified as guarantors of wealth and power: superiority, insecurity and impulse control.

I'm gonna get my noodle on!  Hoping Hoping Hoping "TK Noodle and Grill" is the same branch as "TK Noodle" in San Jose.  There's also the possiblity it's related to "Thuan Kieu Noodle and Grill" in GG, either way I'm gonna get my hu tieu without driving to Trieu Chau.

Another Class 302?  Hopefully they have bigger sized seats, I need to be comfortable when eating greasy food.

Barefoot bowls???  I thought it was another foot massage place, they'll probably close within 3 months.

Capital Noodle Bar, never heard of them, only yelp hits were in London England.  Crossing fingers.

Pieology is always nice to have near, my kid will like it.

Looks like they closed the Subway in the Ralphs shopping center off Jamboree and Irvine Blvd very recently, but not like there's a lack of them in the rest of Irvine.  haha

Farm Direct off of Michelson and Jeffrey/University finally opened.

It replaced the Ralph's that used to be in that center. I believe one of the execs from the closed Assi market in the Woodbridge center is not at Farm Direct.

It's supposed to be like a Sprouts-type grocery. Ironically, it looks empty like Assi.

They are also opening restaurants. Not sure if there but there will be pho and two other middle line type places to eat.
