Rita's is an east coast chain. Love their water ice. Actually went down to the MV location to try the ice and custard when it first opened. Brings back memories of east coast summers.

Rita's is now open, anyone tried it yet?

Thanks for the heads up...I'll drop by when I go to Albertsons.
Needed to go to Albertsons to pick up some groceries and dropped by Ritas.  Got a Gelati (custard with shaved ice).  It was very good and refreshing....I'll definitely be going back.

I'm thinking they are putting that Whole Foods in the area across from BK and 7-11.
May it'll go across the street between the current shopping center and the 405 freeway.

Yes it is going next to Los Olivos, new retail center.

You just created a huge positive uproar in my family over the gluten-free Stax Cookie Shop. We can't wait til September....it'll do well just like the similar shop in Westwood.  :D

Heard a rumor that Buca will be closing soon.  Last time we were there saw a sign saying they no longer have a liquor license, which seems odd unless they're closing.

Got a "Coming Soon" Tustin Marketplace flyer that mentioned these restaurants.

Bondi Grill House
California Gogi Korean Grill
Miguel's Jr.
TAPS Fish House & Brewery.

Not sure why they're putting in another quick mex place in TMP when OTB, El Pollo, Baja Fresh and Rubios seem to already have the area covered.

Has anyone been to Bondi or TAPS?
Bondi's web intro page video is disturbing in a vague/suggestive way.  #neverseenagirleatafrenchfrylikethat

TAPS is supposedly going into Buca's location.  Been to the Brea location a few times.  It's ok, nothing worth waiting in line for.

I have three kids, so waiting in line for any restaurant is a no-go for me.
That's why I always dine with the retirees at 4:30.

LOL -- I did say it was disturbing.

Grill Masters in the Cypress Village Center is now called Cumin. Not sure if there was an ownership and/or menu change.

Same owner(s).  The owner has had a hell of a time getting the restaurant going.. they have tried multiple menu changes and even tried a lunch buffet.  All have failed.  Now, they are going to a Chipotle style menu/presentation - you pick the bread, protein, and toppings and watch them build it  Since they brought back their spicy garlic sauce, this place is back on the rotation for me.

Yep - Buca is closing and Taps will be opening there in February. Rumor is August 16th for the closing date of Buca.

There is a ton of work to be done on the building, including raising the ceiling 5 feet and adding a huge patio on the South side of the building. They'll have a huge bar and 25 beer taps - 6 will be Taps beers and 19 guests, likely none of which will be Blue Moon or Shocktop.  :P

"Not worth waiting in line for" if you don't like world class beers and award winning seafood lol.

Probably not the best place for children though - thankfully.  ;D

Bondi is the new building next door to Bonefish on Jamboree. They just opened one in Huntington Beach that already has a ton of Yelp reviews, if you care to read some. Sounds like a bigger, better, badder Outback, if you're into that...

Regarding Miguels Jr - this place is popular in the IE. The food is more like Rubios and Baja Fresh used to be before they became corporate owned and prepackaged. I prefer Chronic Tacos, but Miguels is a close 2nd.

That's some good intel-- are you the owner?

In Irvine being kid friendly is a must.

Nope - Anacapa resident that drives to Taps Brea every month and plans vacations around craft beer spots.  ;D

I dunno man, The Yardhouse does "OK". ;) Taps will be packed.

OS - they frequently have Bruery beers on tap. With 19 guest taps, they should always have something on from them. Can't wait.
