Looked online and it seems that it's a chain type of restaurant with no other locations in California. (Tried to double check but their server went down, haha)  Owned by the people who bring you: Carrabba's Italian Grill, Fleming's Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar, Outback Steakhouse, and Roy's.

If anyone goes, let me know how it compares to CA Fish Grill.

Love me some Ca Fish Grill... I will be going there today!!! That butter sauce is $$$$$

Coupon is also good for Happy Hour menu? Sounds like the best time to use the coupon is during Happy Hour (5-6:30 PM).

I'm not sure how popular Zov's is.  Everytime I go - it's pretty quiet.  They do serve brunch on the weekends which is nice if you want a sit down type environment.  They probably got rent concessions from TIC since the promised mansions @ OH haven't been built yet.

Zov's is packed almost all the time we go by - which is pretty often.  Not as much dinner, but every morning there's a lot of people there.

TIC finally got someone to the fill the vacancy left by Golden Spoon at the Orchard Hill Shopping center via way of Ren Asian Bistro.  According to the TIC website, the place offers "quick-service Chinese cuisine."  It's set to open in the fall.

That center is really nice and quiet but the configuration of stores is really strange.  The Pavilions, Peets and the Mexican restaurant are all really good.  The Italian place is terrible.  Zov's is way overpriced (but seems popular) and I liked the Japanese place when it served shabu shabu.  All the other stores there are overpriced...the Spa and Chico's seems a little bit out of place.

There needs to be a few more casual restaurants there.
What's the name of that Mexican place?  I'll have to give it a try since it's so close to me.

La Sirena Grill...it's organic/free range meats.  Not to expensive...$9-12 for entrees and you get a lot.  Good wait staff and nice sitting area.

Yes - very good place.  They used to have a deal with Wine Styles (before they recently went under) to order their food form the wine bar.

We happened to go to Shin's by chance on 7/5 before their grand opening - soft opening, as they called it.  The food was good, and the servers were nice and attentive.  Not sure if it was because it was their first day, but the food took a while to arrive.  A bit pricey.  The Chirashi I ordered was $28.

Does anyone know about that bakery that opened in the old Pei Wei space in Oak Creek?
I went there the other night, it's called PDM Kitchen/Bakery and it's actually Pain Du Monde (like the one in Fashion Island).

They just opened last Thursday and it's a big space. Not sure how they will do in that space since two other restaurants (maybe 3, not sure what was there before Pei Wei) couldn't stay open (although they were open for years).

No cronuts to be found but the one thing I really like at PDM is the Almond Twist.

Seasons of Japan is open next to Pho So Bad in Westpark Plaza, haven't tried it, might be good for japanese takeout, Gonna try their yakisoba next.  Gaufree will be next to them

How's the Chirashi?  Did the food move around prior to eating?

Is this Ayame part IV? Gotta admire the proprietor's determination to create something that works. It seems like they faced setback after setback, so hopefully it'll succeed this time.

They're not related to Ayame, new owners, talked to the half Salvadorean (or Ecuadorean?) half Japanese waiter, he's also one of the partners.  Once they shake off rookie restaurant inefficiencies, they should do fine.  The sushi chef seems pretty personable...and they don't have that party pooper signage from Ayame where it stated "Please do not buy drinks for the chef".  I hope they stick to what they want to serve and not cave in to chicken teriyaki and California roll combo A or super Siracha mayo roll....

Heart attack occurs 8/7/13

Exactly!  (You are implying that when you stand in line on the 6th, you will actually be able to get your food on the 7th due to the enormous crowd, right?)

was getting takeout yesterday for the wife and noticed that the the space where the bonefish grill was supposed to open said "restaurant space available" i wonder if they backed out.  its going to suck for in-n-out if the stop the construction until they find a new tenant since their drive thru line is re-routed due to the construction.

and remember - bruxie opens tomorrow!

Popeye's would be perfect there!  Tuesday thigh and wing for $1.29...Winning!  But, alas, a pipe dream.  Popeye's is too ghetto for Irvine.

I wonder if they opened today, their website said they had a special today:
Monday, August 5:
1. Country Sausage & Egg Bruxie ? Griddled Country Sausage, Farm Fresh Jumbo Egg, and Tillamook Cheddar Cheese with a light spread of Mayo
Edit: I think it was their soft opening/training day.

They open at 8am tomorrow... hmm... maybe I'll head over there to see how busy it is.
