Since you are bringing up flip-flops. The guy who claimed ?I could have settled but won't out of principle!? is now settling for $20m.

I hate to burst your bubble, but that isn't a flip flop.  Changing policy positions based on the political climate is a flip flop.

Examples:

-I supported invading Iraq before I opposed it.  John Kerry
-My views on marriage have evolved.  Barack Obama
-The Transpacific Trade Partnership is the gold standard of trade deals.  Hillary Clinton

Trump is allowed to decide whether or not he wants to go forward with a lawsuit because he has a fiduciary duty to his shareholders.  His position during the campaign was that Judge Gonzalo Curiel was biased against him because of the proposal to build a wall and deport illegal aliens.  Additionally, it has been pointed out that seating an unbiased jury in this case would be basically impossible now, because everybody has strong feelings about Trump, one way or another.  Third, he has the important job of naming 4,000 political appointees by January 20th, which is an extremely tight deadline.

LOL. Here we go with the double standard ...

Since HRC is out of the race, you should really drop the whataboutisms

peppy - unfortunately, you're right , it is a double standard. But it's totally justified.  Do you know why?  HRC is a career politician.  She's been in politics and washington 20X longer than Trump and Trump has never set foot in Washinton and politics before.  So of course I have to hold her to a much, much  higher standard.

If you go to a zagat restaurant opened for 20 years, you'd expect nothing but 100% top notch service and food.  But if you walk into Class 302 restaurant and they have a sign that says "soft opening", you have to expect that their service will certainly not be up to par, the quality control will be minimal, and you have to prepare that mindset going in.  And that is what Trump is.

He's a soft opener at the moment.  Not a career politician.  Give him some time and he'll give the zagat restaurants a run for their money. =)

So if you ever need open heart surgery you'd rather go with your car mechanic than a surgeon with 20 years of experience. :P

I don't think that is a fair comparison.

If people were dissatisfied with the status quo, why would they have voted for Clinton?

Bernie significantly hurt Hillary by running for so long.  She would have won if he didn't try to take her down.

Hillary's advisors should of listened to Bill to make the economy the centerpiece of the campaign.

"He repeatedly urged them to connect with the people who had been left behind by the revolutions in technology and globalization."according to the article below.

(This is what Trump and Bernie did)

HRC got a majority in the < $50k category. This narrative doesn't fly.

Hillary went after the minority vote, and that bet didn't pay off.

Looks like Trump won't pursue Clinton investigations, according to article.
http://www.nbcnews.com/politics/201...e-won-t-pursue-clinton-investigations-n687116

That's not really up to him anyways, so this is not very meaningful. This is up to the FBI, Justice Department, the judiciary and eventually a jury to convict. It depends on how politicized these institutions become. We'll have to wait and see on that one.

Trump can instruct the AG to assign a special prosecutor to investigate Hillary's emails, foundation, etc.

I think Trump wants to focus on more pressing issue like jobs. Also, I think he wants to help bring this country together.

But our restaurant has been open for 240 years. We have now hired a person to run it that has no experience in the restaurant business and claims to know more about it than those in the industry.

I know when my company looks to hire people, we are always really excited to get candidates with no experience who tell us they know more about our industry than us.

Let's wait and see. It seems his positions are more moderate than what he said in his campaign.

Nancy Pelosi got relected as the Democrat leader for the House of Rep.

This ineffect rejects the voters call for change. I read an article the GOP are happy Pelosi won.

Any thoughts peppy?

I don't have a problem with that. There is a bit of a rift but she still got elected on a roughly 2:1 split. Not sure what it is that you are trying to get at ...

The problem with that the same leadership is in place and meaning the same strategy will be the same. They did not win the presidency, and did not win the senate majority.  Like I previously said, because they are leaving out the blue collar worker.

If Ellison wins the DNC chair, don't even think about winning 2020.

As the minority leader under the Bush administration she is well suited for the job. She will be effective at spearheading an opposition to the privatization of Medicare the same way she did in 2005 when a Republican administration tried to turn Social Security into "personal accounts".
