Recent trips to Scottsdale and Vegas I had more encounter/needed go around with homeless than here or my regular trips into parts of LA. Granted LA is highly dependent on were you are at. Haven’t been to Santa Monica in a long time.

That said, yesterday, my trip to the local grocery chain in Santa Ana was disrupted by a cordons of store employees trying to shunt a ranting homeless person back out the door. After side stepping around, it was clear he was the distraction as multiple others were cracking Monster drinks and chugging while hiding behind the snack displays in the aisles and tearing open snacks. Half drank can of monster stuck on a shelf there. Opened box of crackers, left by the chips.

Simultaneously sad and infuriating.

Not a fan of "Cackala" as it sounds too close to a Spanish word for crap. The news media won't repeat the word so why use it?

The name/ slogan I'd use would be "California Kamala" and the run "California values, coming to your state in 2025", then play shots of all of the nonsense we have here (riots, encampments, smash and grab robbery, queers for Palestine, etc), then close to black with 10 seconds or so of cackle. Oof.

The hypocrisy is that while the political left likes to slander people they don't like as a Nazi, these same people seem to be okay with real Nazis and Nazi sympathizers. Ukraine's military is full of real Neo-Nazis yet that doesn't prevent these same politicians and political pundits that regularly slander people with that label from supporting Ukraine's military efforts. Where is the Nazi hysteria regarding the Pro-Hamas protestors who share the same genocidal impulses as Hitler against Jewish people. You can bet that if these protestors leaned right, there would be 24/7 hysteria tying them with Nazism.

While I'm on this subject, I would guess most people don't understand the ideological origins of fascism. I noticed that Google doesn't make it easy to find out that the father of fascism is Giovanni Gentile and that Gentile was what we would consider today a progressive socialist. Instead, what we have is a "rewriting" of history from several online sites to align with certain narratives.

With less than 16 weeks to go until Election Day and the entire campaign being rebuilt from scratch essentially, I doubt any Democratic governor with 2028 aspirations, even if they’re merely just discussion topics, aren’t going to want to gamble and have their name attached to this potentially sinking ship. Right now, the surge for Harris, if you could call it that, is that she’s not Joe Biden. She’s the anti-Biden, for lack of a better term, but can she sustain it? If Trump checkmates her in the next debate, the Democrats are primed to get obliterated, a position they were already nestling in when Biden was still in the race.
