Man Arrested For JCC Bomb Threats Was Liberal Journalist Fired For Fabrication

Juan Thompson, the St. Louis native arrested for making bomb threats against Jewish centers, used to write at left-wing website The Intercept before being fired for fabrication.

A man allegedly waging an intense campaign of harassment against a former lover was responsible for bomb threats against the Anti-Defamation League and some Jewish centers around the country, authorities said Friday.
Law enforcement sources told NBC 4 New York the 31-year-old suspect, Juan Thompson, was arrested in St. Louis in connection with multiple threats against Jewish centers, including some in the New York tri-state area.

Sorry, Coal. Solar Is Where the Jobs Arehttp://fortune.com/2017/02/21/donald-trump-jobs-coal-mining-solar-energy/

On the campaign trail, Donald Trump donned a miner?s hat and promised to bring coal jobs back. ?Get ready,? he told the embattled industry, ?you?re going to work your asses off!? Those pledges helped win over voters in the nation?s Rustbelt, but they ignore America?s new energy reality: The jobs aren?t in coal.

According to a recent report from the Energy Department, the coal electric generation sector employed just 86,035 people?57,325 of them miners?in 2016. That?s far fewer than the number who now work in solar: 370,000, up 25% from 2015. The wind-energy workforce, meanwhile, ballooned 32%, to 101,738, and the Bureau of Labor Statistics pronounced ?wind turbine service technician? the nation?s fastest-growing occupation, projecting 108% growth between 2014 and 2024.

Compare that with the fate of coal miners, whose number dwindled by 24% last year. There are lots of reasons for that?the shale gas boom, declining demand, Obama-era regulations, and automation. Even for those in the industry, it?s hard to imagine all those coal jobs coming back. Luke Popovich of the National Mining Association has upgraded the industry outlook from ?not great? to ?improving,? in light of Trump?s early days in the White House.

Bringing back coal jobs, though, may prove a Pyrrhic victory. Loosening regulations and ending solar subsidies are unlikely to stop its slow decline.

Tell that to all these unemployed...

Seems to be a Trump hater and definitely white woman hater. Of course he isn't racist and who cares about white women anyway? You can't be a racist for hating white women, right?. Racism applies only and to every Trump supporter, right?

Isn't this the guy who got fired for writing fake news? Moved on to trying to pin an ex girlfriend for his bomb threats to Jewish centers.

Cops aren't stupid or have an agenda like the NYT, WAPO, CNN, etc. You don't have to be Sherlock Holmes to solve this crime.

The article says Juan Thompson currently works as a community organizer.  I'm glad to know my stereotyped opinion of community organizers is not completely without factual backing.

Stupidity and hate exist everywhere. My repeated point is, it would be nice if leaders would resist the primal urge to spread it, in any form.

Those new jobs are likely going to areas that already have plenty of jobs and where there are plenty of illegals taking those jobs.  It doesn't benefit those who are losing their livelihood in towns where jobs are disappearing.  I'm not saying that we should go out of our way to keep those jobs.  I'm just giving perspective on these people's point of view.

Certainly, times change and we need to adapt.

Some PBS show about Native Americans was playing in the background  and they were talking about how Obama was destroying their sacred burial sights by fast tracking the solar energy panels in Riverside County. I hadn't heard this before. Does anyone have more information?

It reminded me of how Donald Bren would develop houses without any regard to what was buried underneeth the ground.

Fitting in a Trump thread full of false equivalencies, that video would be posted, especially with a grammar error in the title. Good stuff.

That is an iconic Apple add written by Steve Jobs.  What a dummy to make a grammar error, huh?...you miss the point. Actually...you make the point.

You could share, the point you were trying to make. Let's hear the full analysis.

Do share - do you see genius?

I do.  He is changing things, shaking them up. I think his change is for the better. You and others think it is not. It is only in retrospect that we will see who was right.  That commercial encapsulates this divergence of opinion perfectly. Everyone in it was thought of as "crazy" at one point or another in their careers, I think this one will be no different.

We shall see. You are on the record. Gulp.  :-[

He is definitely keeping up with most of his promises.  It's a lot of work but we'll see if most of it pans out.

In other news.. I'll start a new thread on the LA homeless tax.

I have no problem being on record.  I am paid for my opinion and have made a great living doing so.  This is our system working perfectly.  Bloodless revolution is a good thing.  The system was designed to allow it. I have been on record here and elsewhere stating that Trump will undoubtedly do some things even I will not agree with but I'm pragmatic enough to accept that for the larger picture policies I like.  This smells like Reagan all over again. The left hated him, vilified him and his policies.  He was labelled simple and unsophisticated.  To clumsy and lacked the intellect and nuance for a President...I loved him. Hated some of his policies (letting all the loons out of mental institutions and immigrant amnesty)  But all in all he did a wonderful job making America great again. Trump will too!
