Portola Springs - Bougainvillea

NEW -> Contingent Buyer Assistance Program
[quote author="24inIrvine" date=1222477437]I have a friend who purchased a Plan 3 with loft last year. I am constantly waiting for the property tax information to come online so I can see how much the actual Mello Roos cost is. PS is supposed to be brutal in that.

Its a great looking place, interior is nice. Master bedroom/bathroom (takes up half the 2nd floor) is very nice but the other 3 bedrooms are the tiniest bedrooms I have ever seen. I am not sure of the exact purchase price due to incentives and the improvements he got. But either way I would never think of touching this place at the 700k price tag.

[quote author="irvine_home_owner" date=1224831332]So the SA taxes are MORE than the base taxes?

And there is NO elementary school planned for PS?

Dang... where is the money going to?

Into Donald Bren's pocket.

Thanks for finding that. I wonder if people knew that going in when they bought in Portola Springs? We got tempted a couple of times but it was the exorbitant HOAs and Mello-Roos . . . er, "Community Facilities District" taxes . . . er, "fees" that stopped us.

There were a couple of people around here in the past (North Irvine Realtor being one of them, I believe) who said that they wanted to live in an area with CFD taxes because it meant everything was newer. More power to 'em.

technically, probably not.

But from what I have heard, because the entire amount is lumped together, most people write off everything.
