22 people shot in a mass shooting in Trenton New Jersey, one dead!!!  Where is the outrage? Where is the riotous indignation? Where are the protest?  Where are the children? Yawn ....Squirl!!!

Mass Shooting at New Jersey Arts Festival Leaves 22 Injured and 1 Dead

illegal immigrant children locked in cages is the hot button this month, please keep up!

My exact point, this is old news even though it was hardly reported...22 people!!!  Could it be it was not juicy enough?  Not enough children victims?  Didnt happen in a "white" neighborhood?  Was not done with a scary "assault rifle"?  Not enough people actually died?  What a load of crap, the stench of hypocrisy.  Nothing will change.

So, here we are coming up on 6 months since the shooting and what?  Where is the sweeping change, where is the mass moment to get evil assault rifles off the streets?  Where are all the new gun control laws passed by majority votes?...ANSWER:  nowhere...nothing has changed...just as I predicted.  What happend to the youthful exuberant leaders?  Nice hypocrites.

David Hogg protests outside NRA HQ ? protected by armed guards?

Anti-gun protester David Hogg hates guns ? but apparently not enough to not be protected by them.

Hogg and a collective of anti-Second Amendment agitators protested outside the NRA headquarters on Saturday, and as the group points out, he was protected by armed guards.

The answer to your question is the video of Trump and Congress press conference. (Which you didn?t respond to my comment previously.)

They are too afraid to stand up to the NRA. (paraphrasing)

Sorry, logical fallacies work well with misinformed and poorly educated folk. They'll be called out here.

Your comment is set-up with a blatant strawman. Who predicted the sweeping change?

Nice self-congratulatory comment too. All change is difficult. Federal change in gun laws with a Rep president and Congress is nearly impossible. Great prediction though. I predicted it would be sunny and hot in Irvine today, for the record.

Whatever reason you want to assign to it, the end result is the same.

At least you know people know the reason. It?s not my reason it came from Trump?s mouth. Did I make it up? Is it fake news?

Those who paid heed to my advice in the recent market selloff probably came out ahead ...

Mark my words .. we are again at a tipping point in history .. wrt guns

i have been following this topic since Columbine (99) and there has been a stalemate for a very very long time --- but just as the tide turned w civil rights, gay rights , now NRA/GOP may have jumped the shark w this latest episode of high school shooting -- the attention this is getting is somewhat different and the responses I am seeing are also very different .

GOP may also be laying the seeds for its long term ruin.  One election does not a trend make, and there are only so many fax-addled old ppl who keep voting them in before the next generation (s) take over -- gerrymandering also will not be able to save them.  There is still time for the Mitt Romney types (I was a Romney voter) to save the party but they need to act fast ...

No tipping point..no change.

More: Do you agree with Trump or not?
(It seems like you don?t want to address his comment with some members from congress regarding the NRA.)

Would you say, you mis-characterized this comment, a tad?

Your posts are indicative of the new Republican party under Trump's leadership. Nothing matters, not consistency, not intellectual honesty, not character... This, like bigotry, was always a large part of the Republican platform. Trump's just magnified it and made it incapable of being even plausibly denied.

And there it is.  Why does it always come back to race and bigotry?  Always, no matter what the issue.  Gun control, taxes, religion, your favorite color, it doesn't matter. You look through that lens at everything...I don't, and neither do a lot of others.

If Anti 2A, Anti-NRA folks were really riled up about "money and influence" perhaps they should also include the lobbying and campaign financing of Teachers Unions.

Why? Well, considering more children are raped molested by Teachers per year than killed by NRA members at schools, shouldn't there be some leftover outrage to share on the issue? Need some evidence of the claim? Google "Teacher accused of" or "Teacher arrested for" which gives plenty of cases in just the past 12 months.

Teachers Union spending on elections in 2016: $33.2m

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2017/01/17/by-numbers-teachers-union-political-contributions-in-2016.html

(For "oh, that's just Fox news..." the link from Open Secrets.org was too long, but they have more details)

NRA spending on elections in 2016: $55m-$70m

https://www.miamiherald.com/news/nation-world/national/article177313031.html

Evidently it's possible to buy off politicians and avoid both school and teacher reform with less money than it does to ensure a constitutionally protected right remains so. Should this be allowed to stand?

My .02c
