NEW -> Contingent Buyer Assistance Program

Before Uber/Lyft, there were private taxi companies that you could call to take you to LAX for $80.  These people all drove the Toyota sienna.

Before I picked the Odyssey, I was considering the Town&Country and Grand Caravan.  For a 3 year lease any van would have been fine.

This new van I am going to buy, I am going to drive it until the wheels fall off.

Just make sure you get regular brake service :-)

Drove the new CX-9 a couple of weeks ago, it does look great.

Hey Optimus - lucky you :)

What was your overall feeling?  Would you consider purchasing it?  How do you thing it stands up against other SUV's in it's class?

From what I've seen the interior finishes look nice but I'm not impressed by the dash, the steering wheel or the infotainment system, both look a bit old and dated, but outside it does look great.

CX-9 is now at dealers, looks pretty good in silver also...

So I just did my Hyundai Elantra test drive thru the Amazon Prime Now Drive Now pilot program.  Signed up here:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/adlp/hyundaielantra

Today is the last day, and all times look waitlisted, but still worth a shot if you got nothing to do.  I'm hopeful they will bring back and expand this program, as this completes my new car purchase checklist.  How so?  Let me explain....

I buy new cars online like most people.  See a car, want a car, price a car, negotiate for a car.. can all be done online.  But test drive a car?  If I go down to the dealer, I feel like I'm wasting my time and of course the floor salesman's time since I definitely won't be buying it from them.  I deal with the fleet/internet dept.  My last experience I didn't test drive the car until I already finalized the price with fleet.  Kinda backwards to put so much effort for a car and not to get the necessary hands on experience until the last step of writing the check.

This Amazon program fits in nicely.  They deliver the car to your door.  The guy/gal who drives it over is not a salesperson and actually can't sell you the car.  They will point you to the local dealer.  I drove the car for about 30+ minutes.  Did my normal everyday commute versus driving the same Tustin Ranch/Golf course track at the local dealer.  Again no pressure sales and no awkward parting when the test drive ends at the dealer.  If they expand this program and involve other makes and models... I will definitely use this program.  Might not be new, but with Amazon behind it, it executes beautifully.

If they had the Genesis available for test drive, it would probably be in my driveway already.

I was browsing cars online just now and came across the Acura NSX. I didn't think it was possible for an Acura to run that much. O_o I rubbed my eyes and looked again. lol.

@ps9:

When you buy a car online, don't they refer you to a dealer or is this the kind of service that delivers the vehicle to your door?

In my experience, they hook you up with a local dealer so that you can always test drive it too.

It's a photoshop of the Gen 1 Tesla Model S.  I agree that they should either revive their original Roadster lineup, or maybe create a new coupe on the upcoming Model 3 platform.  Maybe that was Elon's plan all along, get a mass market EV out to the public and start making more compelling and fun EV cars

Wow that Tesla does look really nice...when are they planning to come out with it?

If the company can survive building the Model 3, next up on the list should be a no brainer--Model X Jr. The Model X is too expensive for most folks. Build something cheaper/smaller on the Model 3 platform and it will sell like hotcakes. Sexy coupes and roadsters are great for marketing but not so much for sales.

If they call it the Model 4 it will befit the Autopilot/death trap mode.

Rumors suggest the upcoming Tesla media event could be the Model Y.  Think of it as a Model X Jr. If it's priced right, you'll get a bunch of people jumping from the Model 3 wait list.

A Model Y would make sense but should probably be called a Model 4 or even Model 3X to tie it to the Model 3 and the Model X.

Tesla should make a minivan and call it the Model IHO.

Model Y would allow Elon to maintain his non-subtle Freudian product lineup.  S-3-X-Y.  IMO they need to quit announcing new products before even starting to make all the old products.  A dreamer who can't execute is only that.  Good thing for TSLA that Elon is a wall street darling, 'cause the story as a whole is ugly.

I can't wait! That's exactly what I want...a smaller model X
The size of the current porshe macan or bmw x4 would be ideal, will let it be sporty while providing the utility a smaller car doesn't have

I'm on the preorder for the model 3 but I would switch for sure if it priced in the $50-55k range.  Though I am concerned on the timing of the model 3 especially with the news from two weeks back about delays in the body paint department ...ughh

The next Tesla will most likely call Model Y since, as daedalus mentioned above, Elon wants to do a S-E-X-Y lineup. Ford refuse to let Tesla use Model E (Ford trademark it back in 2000).

Speaking of hybrids, anyone driven the new 49mpg Honda Accord hybrid?  19s, 2" drop with some neuspeeds, racing sports akimoto intake/exhaust, and a lip spoiler to class it up :)
