2018 Election: The Empire Strikes Back
2020 Election: Return of the Jedi

Wow...the complete lack of self-awareness in that pic is mind-boggling.

I mean when I think of Trump...I think of a poor dirt farmer from the middle of nowhere out to fight against a racist/sexist totalitarian regime that ignore laws and rules by fear.

Wait, wait... are you saying the Galactic Empire is racist/sexist?

Are you kidding me?  The Empire is extremely racist...well..technically it was speciesist but same concept.
http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Speciesism

Sexism is not quite as obvious but definitely there

A high degree of male chauvinism was also seen in the Empire's government and military. Combining the rampant misogyny with the alien persecution, the Empire was often referred to as having "Non-huMan policies". Notable exceptions to acknowledged male chauvinism included Director Ysanne Isard of the Imperial Intelligence, Major General Tessala Corvae of the Imperial Army and several navy officers like Admiral Natasi Daala, Admiral Betl Oxtroe, Captain Juno Eclipse, and Captain Plikk. The sexist policies that plagued the Empire encouraged Major General Corvae to establish the Firebird Society to prove that females were effective and capable soldiers for the Imperial Military.

The Empire is predominantly based upon Nazi Germany/SS...not sure how you can miss the racist aspect.

princess leia confirmed racist, will star wars fans disavow?!

Although the Empire was very notorious for its speciesist views, there were at least some traces of speciesism within the Alliance to Restore the Republic, such as Princess Leia Organa's referring to the Wookiee Chewbacca as "a walking carpet" during her rescue from the Death Star.

Wow people really got triggered here ? This is all the proof you need to know something must have gone right for the democrats last week !

Well you know who called it :) . The caravan ads were a real desperation move and I knew it right then that ?it?s the economy , stupid ? in size XLL purple font aint gonna work .

Let me do a post midterm analysis of the oc congress candidates. (I did a brief positive summary of the candidates and did not say nothing negative about them.)

39th district: Gil Cisneros vs Young Kim
Gil a former navy officer vet that was awarded medals for his service and believes in health care vs Young Kim former California state legislator.
Winner: Gil (Dem)

45th district: Mimi Walters vs Katie Porter
Mimi represented the 45th district in US Congress vs Katie Porter a lawyer and UCI professor
(there is thread on Talk Irvine that goes into more detail)
Winner: Katie (Dem)

48th district: Harley Rouda vs Dana
Harley a lawyer that believes in education and healthcare vs Dana been in Congress a long time.
Winner: Harley (Dem)

49th district: Diane Harkey vs Mike Levin
Mike an environmental attorney who pushes for clean energy vs Diane a chair woman of the Board of Equalization and former Assemblywoman. Bernie Sanders came to Oceanside in October to lead a rally for Mike Levin.
Winner: Mike (Dem)

Not to mention that former US President Obama, former Vice President Biden, Senator Carmela Harris, LA Mayor Eric Garcetti, California Governor elect Gavin Newsom helped campaign for some or all of the OC Democrats running for US Congress. (President Trump campaigned in Nevada and Arizona for the GOP senator candidates. Why not California? California is really close to Nevada and Arizona by airplane. By the way, the Nevada and Arizona GOP senator candidates loss to Democrats.)

The other factors to consider: healthcare, the unfavorable SALT cap to Californians, the changing demographics in California, I think GOP candidates should of spent more time about selling themself vs running ads against Pelosi (for those who ran negative ads solely on Pelosi)

trump campaigned for primarily senate candidates and won bigly.  senators hold a 6 year term while house members are only 2 years.  trump is playing the long game and will win back all the seats you listed in 2 short years.

Paul Ryan is wondering why Orange County turned Blue.
#1 the new tax law is not favorable to Californians and others
#2 The GOP didn?t send out the troops (big names) to endorse California candidates.
#3 Changing demographics of California
#4 Approval rating of Trump

Guys , you got kicked thoroughly in the butt , lost 40 seats , popular vote by 9 percent , but still stuck in the ?denial ? phase ... Move on with your lives : )

That Senate map was the worst for Dems in like 40-50 years.  They had to defend 25 senate seats..10 in states that Trump won!

LOL...if it wasn't for Trump, GOP would have 55 or more seats in the Senate.

What's the difference between living in abject poverty with little to no income, and travelling in abject poverty with little to no income? Not much. The latter comes with the potential of improving a miserable life. Plenty find it worth the risk and effort.

If you want to speculate as to whether some person or group could be funding the caravan, you should start with the questions: Who would do this? Why? How would they benefit?

The migrant lawsuit is funded by Nexus Services, a private bail bond company serving those in immigration detention. 5,000 new customers, there's your motive.

Those people are not very nice.

Firm accused of preying on detained immigrants faces widening investigations

Like I said...not nice people, but not our people...

Caravan organizers dump migrants, flee responsibility

With the caravan in Tijuana descending into a sozzled mess and den of pestilence, caravan organizers Pueblo Sin Fronteras now say they have nothing to do with it and seem to have skipped town.

Get a load of the interesting stories within this long piece that ran in the San Diego Union-Tribune that begins with a migrant thinking about going back to Honduras

Actual voter fraud!

The state?s Board of Elections voted unanimously Nov. 27 to not certify the results amid the ongoing investigation. Rep. Nancy Pelosi, the favorite to be speaker in the new Congress next year, said Thursday that the House could refuse to seat Harris.

The Charlotte Observer has called for a new election and said North Carolina law would allow it.

?North Carolina General Statute 163A-1180 authorizes the Board of Elections to intervene and ?take any other action necessary to assure that an election is determined without taint of fraud or corruption and without irregularities that may have changed the result of an election,?? wrote the Observer editorial staff. ?The board should call for a new NC-09 general election.?

News stories have quoted residents of Bladen County saying their absentee ballots were collected by strangers who knocked on their doors. Absentee ballots are often cast by voters who are unable to get to the polls on Election Day, and in the Ninth District, in the southern part of the state, they mostly broke for Democrat Dan McCready. Harris carried Bladen County, the only one of the eight counties in the district where McCready didn?t win the absentee ballot count, by 1,557 votes.

Of course the "will of the people" is just for non-GOPers as GOP have decided that they know better.

This is what the GOP has come to. No statement from Trump so far? Why not? If it was a Democrat who did this he would be tweeting about this non stop! Lol

So a brief summary what happened is that a mysterious person(s) or shall I say people went door to door picking up ballots. (Allegedly) It just happen that majority of the ballots that they picked up weren?t counted were Democrats. So now the NC State election board which are majority Republicans won?t ceritfy the election because of this situation. I just heard on the news that the NC state election board is looking to invistigate and will potentially file criminal charges.

The number of votes that were not counted may swing the election.

Poetic justice that after all the hoopla over ?election fraud? from trumpsters , the one tangible real world  example that we find is a dirty republican politician :)

Not to say there isn't some measure of monkey business going on in North Carolina, but the D's might not want too stringent of a review of NC's Ballot Harvesting process. It's about as flawed as California's and thus might open a few Orange County races open to review.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/disputed-house-race-puts-spotlight-on-ballot-harvesting/2018/12/06/da85c430-f9b7-11e8-8642-c9718a256cbd_story.html?noredirect=on&utm_term=.af237a62ea3b

The opportunity for fraud is rife within our voting process. Eliminating this opportuny should be a priority. Many love to say "but it's too hard to vote" to which I would  say "boo 'effin hoo!" Voting should be taken seriously. If it's too hard, perhaps voting isn't something you should be doing.

To reform the system and put some integrity back in the process - why not take clear obvious steps:

1) Make election day a holiday so excuses about ability to vote are wiped out.
2) Required a photo ID to vote.
3) No Mail In/Provisional/Absentee votes accepted after 1 week before live, in-person voting begins. If you want to vote from home, get it done. If you can't get it done in a timely manner, you can still choose option 1.

It's not that tough to keep the process open, fair, easily accessible and tamp down on the ability to commit fraud at the same time. Both the right and the left surely can see the value in making the system less prone to shenanigans.

Not to mention all the lame-duck bills being passed to block Dems from doing things in Wisconsin and Michigan.  It's okay...people on to GOP games now...desperate gasp of a dying party.
