And to further confuse you... a motorcourt home does not necessarily mean the home does NOT have a driveway. Most don't, but there are a few that do, Montecito in Woodbury, Magnolia in Cypress Village and select lots in various other motorcourt projects.

The ones with driveways are also SFR (you own the land and have a lot line) not Detached Condos (you don't own the land and dont have a lot line) typical of motor court homes.

 
yeah u have to pay a premium... there r 3-4 sienna homes that have the wide type driveway (2 car side by side)... dunno how much the premium is but u can probably redfin them... theyre towards the end of the community...

but in retrospect, from the big deal that ppl make out of driveways and places to park their cars, the premium was probably worth it... i personally dont see much utility there, but its probably cause im still a bachelor...
 
Everyone in my hood parks inside.. Their driveway is used for squatting while smoking and to spit on or to wash their car 5:30am in the morning on Sundays...
 
Driveways are convenient for guests to pull up immediately to your house.  Some streets also become quite crowded with cars because people need excess parking as they cannot park two cars in their garage for whatever reason.  I do not really enjoy the look of streets that are full of parked cars.

I wouldn't need a driveway if I lived in a metro area that had "real" public  transportation thus limiting my need for a car.  However, I grew up in a car culture and my family of two has three cars. Therefore, the space is pretty important.

Also, with some layouts the driveway give houses that "setback" feel as the house is farther away from the street.

Speaking of cars, anyone know who owns that gray/red GT3RS?  I was on Sand Canyon today turning left onto Irvine and heard the P-Car from afar.  Looked pretty nice and I'd guess it definitely had an aftermarket exhaust.  I typically don't care for the sound of P-Cars but this one sounded good.

I have a white one with semi loud exhaust...sounds somewhat mellow until I get above 3,500rpm.  Then my car sounds more like a cup car.  lol

haha  I just like being the only realtor who drives a track worthy car.  I mean you see the realtors driving BMWs, Benz, Range Rovers, etc all the time but how often do you see one pull up with a street/track car?  :P

NWP home sold for nearly $2.8 mil at the highest of $523/sq ft within the last 3 years.  I think I saw this house when I walked the trail a few days ago.  Worth almost $3 million?  The only floorplan I can find listed this at around 4000 sq ft.  So the custom casita must be over 1000 sq ft right? :)

The 1/3 of an acre probably had a lot to do with the sales price too.

House needs a major overhaul/facelift/lipo/tummy tuck/whole shebang wrecking ball.  But man... Almost half acre yard, bball court, culdesac.  What's with the ceiling?  Is that wood?  We can throw a disco party in the house before we raze it. 

What would you do with that yard?  For me, convert to full size bball court (4700 sq ft should be doable).  Gotta have a pool/jacuzzi, maybe 2.

Wood ceilings better than popcorn ones (maybe they got lazy and just put wood over the popcorn).

I concur with the full court... but the half court is good enough if you are going to put a pool in there.

Ah yeah... the MLS info on the Redfin listing does show that. Interesting, it was foreclosed for just over $1.1m too.

Some of those Redfin Tour Insights make me laugh, two of them say it's in Turtle Ridge... what kind of Redfin agents are you?
